Job description
Candidate will provide support for all classes of U.S. Submarines from construction through dock side testing. Candidate will also support design and develop future electronic systems, support construction of the VIRGINIA class, as well as the COLUMBIA Class.
D442 works closely with the U.S. Navy, Government, Vendors and other EB Departments associated with ship systems component construction and development to ensure the comms system requirements are met., * Perform routine inspections of CSRR during construction in Quonset Point Rhode Island and Austal Ship Yard Mobile Alabama
- Work with trades and operations during construction of the CCSM
- Maintain on-site relationship with Navy users
- Handle Secret and COMSEC material
- Interface with the Government, Navy, Trades, Operations, and vendors
- Support integrations, COATS testing, and Dockside testing
- Perform thorough reviews of ER's. drawings, procedures, and other technical documents
- Some weekend work required
- Travel is estimated less than 25%
Requirements
- High School Diploma or G.E.D.
- 5+ years of experience in operating Navy Communications, Electronic Support, Periscope, Photonics, and Radar systems
- Able to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance
Preferred:
- Familiarity with operating and handling of special property
- Electrical/Equipment Drawings
- Troubleshooting of Navy Communication Systems, in particular Radio Room (such as I1V1, V2, V3, etc)
- Rotation as technician for NAVY support organization, like ISEA, FTA, etc, * Ability to work independently or in a team
- Technical writing skills
- Applicant must be able to read, write, and interpret drawings, specifications, procedures, reports, and other documents
- Strong written and verbal communication skills are required to ensure effective interface with a variety of organizations.
- Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills in order to evaluate situations, make recommendations, and take prompt and effective action.
- Basic computer skills, including use of Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, and Power Point (or equivalent).
- Applicant should have the interpersonal and communication skills necessary to investigate problems by effectively asking questions, extracting necessary data from available sources, and working with others to determine root causes and implement appropriate solutions
