Mainframe Developer

This role involves leading technical initiatives focused on Mainframe Development Enhancement Modernization in COBOL Db2 JCL Python. and DevOps tools for mainframe systems. The candidate will work on hybrid projects leveraging their expertise in Mainframe and other technologies to deliver impactful solutions., * Focused on Mainframe Development Enhancement Modernization in COBOL Db2 JCL Python. and DevOps tools for mainframe systems.

• Apply advanced knowledge of DB2 and Cobol to develop robust database-driven applications that meet business requirements.
• Lead the design and implementation of APIzation solutions using IBM DVM for z/OS and Open Legacy to modernize legacy systems effectively.
• Utilize FILEAID and SPUFI for efficient data management and analysis ensuring accuracy and reliability in project deliverables.
• Develop and maintain JCL scripts to automate batch processing and improve operational efficiency.
• Implement and manage SCLM IDZ Github for version control and deployment processes ensuring consistency across environments.
• Work with CICS and VSAM to optimize transaction processing and data storage solutions for high-performance applications.
• Conduct thorough testing and debugging of mainframe utilities to ensure system stability and reliability.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into technical specifications for project execution.
• Provide mentorship and guidance to junior team members fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
• Ensure compliance with company standards and industry best practices in all technical implementations.

Candidate must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future, * Demonstrate proficiency in MF Db2 Optimization.

• Have hands-on experience with DevOps suites from Microfocus IBM and Compuware for streamlined development workflows.
• Exhibit advanced skills in Mainframe CoolGen/CA Gen 10 for application development and maintenance.
• Show proficiency in FILEAID and SPUFI for efficient data management and analysis.
• Be skilled in JCL scripting to automate batch processing and improve operational efficiency.
• Have experience with Changeman for version control and deployment processes.
• Possess strong knowledge of CICS and VSAM for transaction processing and data storage optimization.
• Demonstrate expertise in DB2 and Cobol for developing database-driven applications.
• Be familiar with mainframe utilities for system stability and reliability.
• Have excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with stakeholders and team members.
• Show a commitment to adhering to company standards and industry best practices in all technical implementations.
• Exhibit a proactive approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement.

The annual salary for this position is between $50K - $93,500 K depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.

This position is also eligible for Cognizant's discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant's applicable plans.
