Job description

AGI Data Services organization is responsible for procuring data needed for building and validating large-language models. Today, AGI Data Services produces large amounts of of human-created and human-in-the-loop data that is used to train and evaluate large language models. The data is produced through multiple delivery channels, depending on complexity, type, and volume. One of the strategic channels to build and develop for AGI Data Services is external crowd sourcing where AGI Data Services can directly hire/recruit, engage and manage the crowd to generate high quality ground truth.

Software Development Manager in this space will lead the engineering team to define, design, and execute the charter of recruiting and onboarding high quality external annotators (aka experts) who are proficient in complex domains such as STEM, SWE, Finance, Medicine, etc.

This role's scope includes defining strategy, processes and requirements, and leading cross functional development teams from design through delivery. You will be accountable for driving the entire product lifecycle, from platform product definition through specification, coding, quality assurance and launch to the potential millions of external experts who are interested to annotate and earn money across multiple countries. Most importantly, these software capabilities will be external facing and be made generally available. As a result, the software development manager leading this charter will be responsible for taking multiple decisions that involve PR, legal and compliance. Cross-team coordination, project and program management and writing skills are essential for this role.

Key job responsibilities

  • Lead AI driven software capabilities that enable hiring, recruiting and vetting of 50K+ external candidates who are subject matter expert in STEM, SWE, Finance and other complex domains for Nova and other Gen AI model data collection needs.
  • Drive alignment and execution of key business goal to recruit, hire and register legitimate external experts who can help train and improve AI model on complex domains.
  • Define technology stack, guide and review key architectural decisions.
  • Hire exceptional individuals and mentor team members in reaching their career goals.

Requirements

3+ years of engineering team management experience

  • 7+ years of working directly within engineering teams experience
  • 3+ years of designing or architecting (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
  • 8+ years of leading the definition and development of multi tier web services experience
  • Knowledge of engineering practices and patterns for the full software/hardware/networks development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, certification, and livesite operations
  • Experience partnering with product or program management teams

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in communicating with users, other technical teams, and senior leadership to collect requirements, describe software product features, technical designs, and product strategy
  • Experience in recruiting, hiring, mentoring/coaching and managing teams of Software Engineers to improve their skills, and make them more effective, product software engineers

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
