Job description
The SAP IBP Solution Architect is responsible for designing, leading, and delivering end-to-end SAP Integrated Business Planning (IBP) solutions that align business strategy with advanced supply chain planning capabilities. This role partners closely with business stakeholders, functional leads, and technical teams to translate planning requirements into scalable, high-performing SAP IBP solutions.
The Architect serves as the functional and design authority across demand, supply, inventory, S&OP, and response planning, ensuring best practices, integration integrity, and long-term solution sustainability.
Key Responsibilities
Solution Architecture & Design
- Architect end-to-end SAP IBP solutions across modules including:
o IBP for Demand
o IBP for Supply
o IBP for Inventory Optimization
o IBP for S&OP / Response & Supply

Lead solution design workshops and translate business requirements into functional and technical designs

Define planning models, key figures, time profiles, planning areas, operators, and analytics

Ensure solution alignment with SAP best practices and client business strategy
Stakeholder & Program Leadership

Act as the primary SAP IBP design authority and trusted advisor to business leaders

Partner with supply chain, operations, IT, and data teams to drive design decisions

Lead and mentor functional consultants and offshore teams
-
Support executive-level discussions, roadmap planning, and value realization
Integration & Technical Oversight
- Design and oversee integration between SAP IBP and:
o SAP S/4HANA / ECC
o SAP CPI / CI-DS
o SAP APO (legacy transition scenarios)

Collaborate with data and integration teams on master data strategy, data quality, and performance

Guide configuration of alerts, dashboards, analytics, and scenario planning
Delivery & Governance

Ensure solution quality across blueprint, build, test, and deployment phases

Review functional specifications, configurations, and test scenarios

Support UAT, cutover planning, and post-go-live stabilization

Identify risks, assumptions, and dependencies; recommend mitigation strategies
Continuous Improvement

Drive solution optimization, performance tuning, and adoption improvements

Stay current on SAP IBP innovations, releases, and roadmap capabilities
-
Advise clients on future-state enhancements and IBP maturity evolution
Requirements
-
7+ years of SAP Supply Chain Planning experience
-
4+ years hands-on SAP IBP implementation experience
-
Proven experience as a Solution Architect or Lead Consultant for IBP programs

Full lifecycle implementation experience (at least 2 IBP deployments preferred)
SAP IBP Expertise
- Strong functional knowledge of one or more IBP modules:
o Demand Planning
o Supply Planning
o Inventory Optimization
o S&OP / Response & Supply
- Deep understanding of:
o Planning Areas and Key Figures
o Time profiles and operators
o Analytics, dashboards, and alerts
- Experience with SAP IBP integration frameworks
Business & Functional Skills

Experience leading design workshops and executive presentations

Preferred Qualifications

SAP IBP Certification(s)

Experience with SAP S/4HANA transformations

Experience in Consumer Goods, Manufacturing, Life Sciences, or Retail

Exposure to SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC) for IBP

Prior consulting or system integrator background
