Job description

We are seeking a talented Senior Embedded Engineer- Linux/RTOS to join our Leicester-based team developing advanced Fire Panel programs for the Gent brand. This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate engineer to work alongside a dedicated group of professionals, contributing to innovative solutions in the fire safety industry., * Maintain and improve on our legacy code base (C/C++), as well as porting to our newer platforms

  • Design and develop embedded software for the newer fire panelplatforms, ensuring high reliability and performance.
  • End-to-end ownership of the software lifecycle.
  • Participate in code reviews, technical discussions, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Requirements

  • Expertise in C/C++ for embedded systems (8+ years)
  • Hands-on experience with embedded system development and debugging.
  • Experience in complex systems (or system of systems) in an industrial setting
  • Knowledge of RTOS or Linux developments

Good to have

  • Knowledge of fire panels and fire devices
  • Experience with industrial communication protocols.
  • Hands-on experience with hardware
  • Experience is refactoring legacy C/C++ code
