Job description

Are you a Cloud Engineer who enjoys the "sharp end" of tech? Do you love the challenge of managing high-availability environments where stability and performance are the top priorities? I am currently partnering with a global technology provider that builds and operates mission-critical software used by major international organisations. They are looking for a versatile Cloud Engineer to join their Cloud Operations team in Bracknell. This is a role for someone who thrives on a mix of production support, infrastructure engineering, and automation. The Opportunity You will be a key player in ensuring their customer-facing AWS platforms remain rock-solid. This isn't just a "business as usual" role; you'll be at the heart of their technical operations, responding to incidents, performing deep-dive triage, and using automation to make the environment more resilient. What You'll Be Doing

  • Infrastructure as Code: Support and scale environments using Terraform and Azure DevOps pipelines.
  • Active Monitoring: Proactively manage system health via AWS CloudWatch, ensuring any issues are caught before they impact the client.
  • Incident Recovery: Take ownership of production incidents-from initial triage through to resolution and root-cause analysis.
  • Hybrid Administration: Manage a sophisticated stack that includes Windows Server (AD, GPO, RDS) and basic Linux administration.
  • Automation: Scripting in PowerShell to eliminate manual tasks and streamline deployments., My client operates in a sector where downtime isn't an option. You'll be working on complex, large-scale systems that require a structured and disciplined approach. It's an environment where your technical competence will be trusted, and you'll have the autonomy to improve operational workflows. Interested? If you have a proactive troubleshooting style and a background in managing mission-critical cloud infrastructure, I'd love to speak with you. Apply now for a confidential discussion about the company and the full scope of the role.

Requirements

  • The AWS Toolkit: You know your way around AWS, specifically monitoring and logging tools.
  • The Automation Mindset: You have hands-on experience with Terraform and CI/CD pipelines.
  • The Windows Specialist: Strong experience with Windows Server environments and PowerShell scripting is essential.
  • Database Savvy: You are comfortable with SQL; if you have experience with Oracle, that's a massive win.
  • The "Cool Head": You can multi-task and stay focused when things get busy.
