Job description

Summary: Java Developer serves as a key technical leader responsible for designing, developing, and implementing robust Java-based full-stack solutions for a Web Portal. This role focuses on extending the existing platform and integrating, Enterprise API Gateway, Enterprise Data Platform, and Enterprise Case Management) to deliver new functionality., Lead front-end, middleware, and back-end development using Java full-stack technologies to implement new features, enhancements, and maintenance. Develop and maintain microservices, RESTful APIs, and integration layers that connect with AWS GovCloud environments, legacy systems, and enterprise services. Implement front-end components using React and modern JavaScript frameworks while ensuring seamless integration with Spring Boot backend services. Design and optimize data access layers using PostgreSQL or similar relational databases, ensuring high performance, security, and compliance with data handling standards. Participate in all Agile ceremonies (Sprint Planning, Daily Stand-ups, Sprint Reviews, Retrospectives) and contribute to backlog refinement, user story development, and CI/CD pipeline execution. Collaborate with architecture, cybersecurity, 508 compliance, and testing teams to deliver secure, accessible, and scalable solutions. Perform code reviews, implement automated testing, and support production deployment and troubleshooting activities. Contribute to fraud prevention enhancements, real-time monitoring, and integration with data analytics platforms (Tableau/EDP). Ensure all deliverables meet Section 508 accessibility standards (WCAG 2.2) and security requirements.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (Master's preferred). Minimum 10 years of progressive experience in Java development. 3-5 years hands-on experience with React for front-end development. 3-5 years experience designing and implementing microservices and APIs (Spring Boot highly preferred). Strong experience with relational databases (PostgreSQL or equivalent) and ORM frameworks. Proven experience working in Agile environments (Scrum/Kanban) with Jira, GitHub, and CI/CD pipelines. Experience with cloud platforms (AWS GovCloud preferred) and containerized deployments. Knowledge of tax processing, case management systems, or federal financial systems is highly desired. Strong understanding of secure coding practices, DevSecOps, and federal security policies
