In this role as a Lead Software Development Engineer you will:
- Develop software applications using best practices in coordination with a distributed team.
- Apply mastery-level understanding of software development methodologies to design and build complex SaaS systems.
- Drive design decisions including platform selection, coding standards, and technical implementation.
- Contribute across all aspects of an Agile development process, design, programming, testing, documentation, QA, and implementation.
- Lead code reviews to enforce standards and provide constructive feedback.
- Mentor junior team members to reinforce best practices and support their growth.
- Ensure development efforts are properly estimated and delivered on time and to quality standards.
- Collaborate with internal and external end users on requirements gathering and application design.
- Provide technical guidance to management and help shape the technical direction for new product development.
- Leverage innovation time to explore pet projects and areas of special interest.
Requirements
Successful candidates will be passionate about software engineering, measure success through working software and end user satisfaction, and have a desire to reimagine our business for the customer's benefit. We look for people who are comfortable with ambiguity and leverage an agentic AI-First approach across all SDLC operations., * 5+ years of experience developing software for the Global Trade industry, specifically in logistics, customs, or supply chain management.
- 10+ years of software development experience across multiple programming languages, with a demonstrated ability to quickly learn new ones.
- Proficiency in .NET development (C#, VB.NET).
- Proficiency in responsive front-end / single page application development using Angular.
- Proficiency developing and consuming REST APIs, including documentation tooling (Swagger, Postman).
- Experience with both SQL and NoSQL data persistence systems (MSSQL, PostgreSQL, DynamoDB).
- Working knowledge of DataDog for observability, APM, and RUM.
- AWS and/or GCP cloud-native development experience.
- 3+ years of hands-on experience with agentic AI-First development tools and processes.
- Comfort with iterative, spec-light design. You'll need to think things through, fill in the blanks, and adapt across sprints based on customer feedback.
- Solid understanding of application security from both the web service and web application perspective.
- Lead-level understanding of design patterns and N-Tier architecture.
- Strong debugging and troubleshooting skills.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- SaaS development experience on large to enterprise-class applications.

Thomson Reuters complies with local laws that require upfront disclosure of the expected pay range for a position. The base compensation range varies across locations. For any eligible US locations, unless otherwise noted, the base compensation range for this role is $118,400 USD - $219,800 USD. Base pay is positioned within the range based on several factors including an individual's knowledge, skills and experience with consideration given to internal equity. Base pay is one part of a comprehensive Total Reward program which also includes flexible and supportive benefits and other wellbeing programs. This role may also be eligible for an Annual Bonus based on a combination of enterprise and individual performance.
