Job description
As the Senior Network Engineer, you play a critical role in ensuring the reliability and efficiency of our data network. Your responsibilities include provisioning, maintaining, and improving network infrastructure. Your expertise directly impacts the organization's ability to innovate and maintain operational excellence.\n \n \nEssential Duties and Responsibilities: \n \n \n \n
- Recommend and follow technical standards for network device configuration\n
- Create and update network diagrams and documentation\n
- Proactively monitor network status/health and address issues as appropriate\n
- Perform network upgrades and patches as necessary to include firmware and operating systems\n
- Engage with vendors for license renewals and support cases\n
- Use expertise to support other team members with network troubleshooting and issue resolution\n
- Develop and maintain network security configurations\n
- Ensure network security standards and practices are implemented and maintained within the infrastructure environment\n
- Perform network segmentation testing\n
- Troubleshoot network performance issues to include packet capture and analysis\n
- Maintain and exercise a disaster recovery plan for network connectivity\n
- Individual is expected to be generally available 24 x 7 x 365 in case of emergency\n
- Additional job duties as assigned\n
Requirements
n, * Education: Bachelor's degree in technical discipline (Computer Science/Engineering, Information Technology, etc.) or equivalent experience\n
- Six to eight+ years of experience implementing, configuring, and maintaining network switches, firewalls, and wireless access points\n
- Advanced understanding of LAN/WAN principles and protocols to include dynamic routing (BGP/OSFP), policy-based routing, DNS, DHCP, IPSec, HSRP, and NAT\n
- Experience designing and implementing network security controls\n
- Highly attentive to detail\n
- Strong verbal and written communication skills\n
- Self-motivated individual who takes initiative and drives work forward with minimal direction\n
- Palo Alto Networks certification (PCNSA, PCNSE, or Next-Generation Firewall Engineer) strongly preferred\n
- Networking certification from Cisco, HPE (Aruba), or Juniper preferred\n
- Azure Network Engineer Associate and/or Azure Security Engineer Associate preferred\n
- Secondary expertise in one or more of the following is a plus: VMware (VVF/VCF), Windows Server, Microsoft 365, or Azure administration\n
- Experience working in a PCI, HIPAA, ISO 27001, and/or SOC 2 environment is a plus\n
