Job description
- Design, develop, and document data solutions following SDLC and project management best practices.
- Manage small to mid-sized projects, including scope, effort, and cost considerations.
- Collaborate with business units such as Production Accounting, Field Operations, and Land to understand their needs.
- Optimize and support complex SQL environments, including stored procedures, SSIS packages, and data movement processes.
- Provide technical support and troubleshoot issues across supported applications.
- Author comprehensive design documentation and assist in testing and deployment phases.
- Engage with vendors and internal stakeholders to ensure timely and efficient project execution.
- Stay current on new application offerings and emerging industry technologies.

Two plus years of direct upstream oil and gas application experience, particularly in production accounting, field operations, o/g accounting or land.

Demonstrated success in managing technical projects and developing documentation.

6+ years of professional experience with MS SQL, including stored procedures, SSIS packages, ETL and TRS.

Power BI and Spotfire experience at a power user level.

Strong understanding of upstream oil and gas applications such as production accounting, field operations, or land management.

Proven ability to analyze complex data and processes.

Solid knowledge of SDLC and the ability to create detailed design documentation.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with experience reporting to various audiences.

Ability to independently prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects effectively.
Advantageous skills:
- Knowledge of additional programming languages.
- Experience supporting legacy systems and in-house built data solutions.
- Familiarity with end-to-end data warehousing projects, including data hubs replacing traditional warehouses.
- Mentoring junior staff members.
- Understanding of project management concepts and tools.
The role is hybrid 2/3 in north Houston.
