Job description
Responsible for the server installation and administration, monitoring of system performance and capacity, maintenance turning and root cause analysis of the enterprise's server technology, to include Active Directory, Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP), Group Policy, Virtualization, Backup and Recovery. In-person work on campus is an essential function of this position.Plan and implement server upgrades, maintenance fixes, and vendor supplied patches for systems supporting students, faculty, and staff. Provide timely response to customer problems. Assist in troubleshooting escalated server issues. Manage enterprise Active Directory/Exchange services and supporting server infrastructure. Manage projects and operation of the systems that support the college's Microsoft Server environment, including upgrades, patches, and enhancements. Assist in establishing and implementing policies, procedures, and technologies to ensure servers are hardened and secure. Carry out system performance and security audits. Participate in managing all network security solutions, including antivirus and anti-spam software, and system monitoring software. Perform, monitor, and test systems backups and data recovery throughout the organization. Oversees Storage Area Network (SAN) hardware implementation, configuration, and enhancements. Assist in the development of strategies for client/server implementations. Architect the infrastructure required to support those strategies. Participate in key process improvements as they relate to the client/server environment. Implement and maintain virtual desktop infrastructure. Conduct research on server hardware, software, and protocols in support of procurement and development efforts. Coordinate and collaborate with Senior Server Administrator to ensure availability, reliability and scan ability of corporate servers to meet business demands. Requirements

Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology (IT), Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Management Information Systems, Business, or related field and six (6) years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience which demonstrates possession of the required knowledge, skills, and abilities. NOTE: A copy of the transcript reflecting this required education MUST be submitted for consideration and reflect completed coursework and degrees conferred. The candidate must be fully qualified for the position at the time of application.

Experience managing enterprise Active Directory/Exchange services and supporting server infrastructure.

Experience planning and implementing server upgrades, maintenance, and vendor supplied patches.

Experience establishing and implementing policies, procedures, and technologies.

Experience carrying out system performance and security audit.

Experience managing all security solutions including anti-virus and anti-spam software, and system monitoring software.

Experience performing, monitoring, and testing systems backups and data recovery.

Experience overseeing all aspects of SANS.

Experience with all types of server hardware, troubleshooting server issues, and associated network equipment and server performance tuning and monitoring tools.

Documented knowledge of Windows Server, Terminal Server, Remote Assistance, Active Directory, Group Policy, Exchange, Structured Query Language (SQL), Information Services (IIS)/ (Web), Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI), MS Hyper-V, UNIX, and LINUX.

Highly effective problem solving abilities, and analytical, interpersonal and communication skills.

Ability to generate and conduct presentations.

Experience managing and supervising personnel.
