Viasat's Commercial Aviation business is redefining how airlines deliver reliable, high-performance connectivity and data-driven digital experiences to passengers, crew, and operations teams. We are seeking a Senior Product Manager - Connectivity Platform to support the strategy, definition, and execution of our onboard software platform, including the full connectivity software stack, session and network enablement, capacity optimization, and the platform capabilities that power passenger, crew, and cockpit connectivity experiences.
In this role, you will drive product requirements for the onboard Connectivity Platform, partner across engineering, operations, and commercial teams, and evolve Viasat's commercial aviation software ecosystem. You will own the end-to-end on-board software offering that enables passengers, crew, and cockpit connectivity experiences, ensuring exceptional performance, reliability, scalability, and customer value. - Contribute to product strategy and roadmaps for the Connectivity Platform, including onboard software, session management, terminal optimization, and enabling digital experiences.
- Translate the broader Commercial Aviation portfolio vision into platform-level capabilities, APIs, and services with clear, measurable outcomes.
- Define what the onboard connectivity platform means from a performance, reliability, scalability, usability, and lifecycle perspective.
- Own platform product requirements, success metrics, feature planning, and lifecycle support across the onboard software stack.
- Partner with engineering and architecture to define platform capabilities that enable digital products such as live TV, W-IFE, Partner applications, Ads, portals, and future services.
- Prioritize enhancements across platform reliability, availability, performance, and extensibility.
- Coordinate with OEMs and technology partners to ensure platform compatibility and evolution.
- Act as a voice of the customer, representing airlines, passengers, crew, and cockpit users.
- Support business cases and prioritization for platform investments and technical trade-offs.
- Use data-driven insights to inform roadmap decisions and platform performance improvements.
- Monitor product-market fit, adoption, usage patterns, and operational performance of platform features.
- Communicate platform updates, roadmap changes, and customer impact to internal and external stakeholders.
Requirements
- 5-7 years of product management experience.
- Experience with aviation software platforms, in flight connectivity, cloud services, or networked systems.
- Strong understanding of end-to-end software systems, service reliability, and performance monitoring.
- Ability to collaborate deeply with engineering and architecture teams on complex technical products.
- Demonstrated success owning platform or infrastructure-adjacent software products.
- Strong communication skills and stakeholder management experience.

Benefits & conditions
$180,500.00 - $285,000.00 / annually. For specific work locations within San Jose, the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, the base pay range for this role is $224,500.00- $336,500.00/ annually
