Job description
We are seeking a Software Engineer 3 to become part of the Workfront team and develop scalable, high-quality software that drives core product experiences. This position mainly involves full-stack engineering, with chances to work on AI-driven features, such as conversational AI and intelligent agents.
As a P30 engineer, you will own features end-to-end, contribute to system building, and help drive engineering excellence while demonstrating modern tools-including AI-to accelerate development and innovation.
What You'll Do
- Build, develop, and deliver full-stack features across frontend, backend, and service layers
- Own end-to-end delivery of complex features, from building through implementation, testing, and release
- Contribute to system architecture and technical development, ensuring scalability, reliability, and performance
- Develop and sustain APIs, services, and user-facing experiences within Workfront
- Apply AI technologies (e.g., conversational AI, AI agents) to improve product capabilities where appropriate
- Leverage AI-assisted development tools to improve efficiency, code quality, and speed of delivery
- Collaborate with Product, Build, and cross-functional teams to deliver customer-focused solutions
- Debug and resolve issues across multiple layers of the stack and distributed systems
- Define and own test strategies and quality standards for features and releases
- Contribute to engineering guidelines, code reviews, and continuous improvement of development processes

Requirements
- Strong experience in full-stack development (frontend, backend, APIs, and services)
- Ability to work across multiple systems and domains, understanding dependencies and trade-offs
- Experience debugging and resolving complex, cross-system issues
- Ownership of test planning, release quality, and system reliability
- Familiarity with or interest in AI/ML, conversational AI, or agent-based systems
- Demonstrated ability to bring to bear AI tools to accelerate development workflows
- Applies build patterns, performance optimization, and secure coding practices
Collaboration & Leadership
- Shares knowledge and mentors junior engineers
- Collaborates across teams and contributes to technical initiatives and build discussions
- Positively influences team culture through teamwork, accountability, and strong execution
- Participates in hiring and helps raise the engineering bar
- Communicates clearly to align collaborators on technical decisions and trade-offs
What You Need to Succeed
- Typically 3-8 years of software engineering experience
- Strong foundation in data structures, algorithms, and system building
- Demonstrated capability to provide full-stack features in live settings
- Experience working in cross-functional teams on customer-facing products
- Ability to quickly learn and apply new technologies, including tools powered by artificial intelligence
Nice to Have
- Experience with Node.js, Java, TypeScript, and React
- Experience with observability and monitoring tools like Splunk
- Exposure to conversational AI or AI-assisted user experiences
About Adobe
Benefits & conditions
Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several U.S. geographic markets, and we pay differently based on those defined markets. The U.S. pay range for this position is $114,100 -- $214,950 annually. Pay within this range varies by work location and may also depend on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for the job location during the hiring process.
In California, the pay range for this position is $148,500 - $214,950
At Adobe, for sales roles starting salaries are expressed as total target compensation (TTC = base + commission), and short-term incentives are in the form of sales commission plans. Non-sales roles starting salaries are expressed as base salary and short-term incentives are in the form of the Annual Incentive Plan (AIP).
In addition, certain roles may be eligible for long-term incentives in the form of a new hire equity award.
