Job description

Rate Range: $53/hour to $60/hour; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors. Linux Engineer Job Responsibilities include: Administer and maintain Linux systems (RHEL, Ubuntu), including system tuning, performance optimization, filesystem management, and security hardening. Manage and support VMware environments hosting Linux virtual machines, ensuring availability, scalability, and reliability. Lead expert-level troubleshooting for P1 production incidents, leveraging packet capture tools such as Wireshark and tcpdump during MIM calls. Support and optimize enterprise backup and storage solutions (Veeam, Rubrik, Cohesity, SAN/NAS), including RAID, LUNs, and multipathing. Operate within 24×7 production environments, ensuring strict adherence to SLA and uptime requirements while resolving networking-related issues (TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP, FTP). Provide on-demand support in factory and data center environments, including racking, stacking, cabling, and infrastructure coordination.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related technical field. 6-10+ years of hands-on experience in Linux system administration within enterprise production environments. Strong hands-on expertise in Linux (RHEL, Ubuntu) and VMware administration, with proven experience handling P1 incidents and expert-level troubleshooting using packet capture tools. Demonstrated experience with enterprise backup and storage technologies (Veeam, Rubrik, Cohesity, SAN/NAS) and the ability to support 24×7 factory or mission-critical environments with strict SLA requirements.
