Job description

Akkodis is seeking a Sr. Network Engineer for a Contract with a client in Frederick, MD. The candidate is responsible for designing, implementing, and optimizing enterprise-wide LAN, WAN, WLAN, and cloud network infrastructures to ensure performance, security, and scalability., Design, deploy, and maintain enterprise-scale LAN, WAN, WLAN, and cloud networking solutions to ensure high performance and scalability. Configure, manage, and support network infrastructure including routers, switches, firewalls, VPNs, load balancers, and proxy servers. Monitor network performance, troubleshoot complex issues, and ensure maximum uptime, reliability, and security. Lead infrastructure upgrades, patching, and security hardening across on-premise and cloud environments. Implement and enforce network security protocols to protect enterprise data and systems from threats. Provide Level 2/3 support, act as an escalation point, document network changes, and mentor junior engineers.

Requirements

Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field. Minimum of 10 years of hands-on experience in network engineering and enterprise infrastructure management. Strong expertise in networking protocols (TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, IPSEC, QoS) with hands-on experience using enterprise platforms such as Cisco, Juniper, and Palo Alto. Proven experience with cloud and hybrid networking environments (AWS and/or Azure), along with strong network security and troubleshooting skills.
