Job description

As a Senior Lead Software Engineer at JPMorganChase within the Corporate technology team, you are an integral part of an agile team that works to enhance, build, and deliver trusted market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. Drive significant business impact through your capabilities and contributions, and apply deep technical expertise and problem-solving methodologies to tackle a diverse array of challenges that span multiple technologies and applications., * Produce high-quality designs, roadmaps, and program charters, driving delivery personally or through engineers you lead.

  • Partner across teams to design and implement observability and reliability for complex systems that are robust, stable, and minimize toil and technical debt.
  • Build deep expertise in the applications and platforms you own, including their dependencies and constraints.
  • Demonstrates and champions site reliability culture and practices and exerts technical influence throughout your team
  • Leads initiatives to improve the reliability and stability of your team's applications and platforms using data-driven analytics to improve service levels
  • Collaborates with team members to identify comprehensive service level indicators and stakeholders to establish reasonable service level objectives and error budgets with customers
  • Demonstrates a high level of technical expertise within one or more technical domains and proactively identifies and solves technology-related bottlenecks in your areas of expertise
  • Acts as the main point of contact during major incidents for your application and demonstrates the skills to identify and solve issues quickly.
  • Contribute meaningfully to JPMorgan Chase's SRE community through internal forums, communities of practice, guilds, and conferences.

Requirements

  • Formal training or certification on SRE concepts and 5+ years of hands-on experience.
  • Experience in information technology infrastructure.
  • Advanced knowledge of SRE culture and principles, with a proven ability to implement SRE within applications or platforms.
  • Advanced observability expertise-including white- and black-box monitoring, service level objectives, alerting, and telemetry-using tools such as Grafana, Dynatrace, Prometheus, Datadog, Splunk, and similar.
  • Advanced understanding of software applications and technical processes, with substantial depth in one or more technical disciplines.
  • Ability to communicate data-driven solutions using sophisticated reporting and visualization techniques.
  • Recognized as an active contributor to the engineering community.

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Ability to anticipate, identify, and troubleshoot defects uncovered during testing.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to mentor and educate others on SRE principles and practices.
  • Continuously expands professional network and leads vendor evaluations to assess alignment with the firm's strategy.
