job summary: Senior Software Engineer - TypeScript/Node (Remote)

Overview

We are seeking a highly autonomous, AI-empowered Senior Engineer to join a forward-thinking technology team. In this strictly remote, Individual Contributor (IC) role, you will focus heavily on backend architecture, API development, and cloud integrations within a distributed system. If you leverage AI tools daily to multiply your output and thrive in an Agile environment, this position offers an excellent opportunity to make a high-level impact.

responsibilities: Backend & API Architecture: Drive the development, maintenance, and scaling of core APIs while seamlessly integrating complex third-party services.

AI-Driven Development: Utilize modern AI coding assistants (such as Claude, GitHub Copilot, etc.) as a fundamental part of your daily workflow to accelerate engineering output and optimize efficiency.

Cloud Infrastructure: Architect and deploy solutions within a service-oriented, cloud-based environment (AWS preferred, utilizing EC2, ECS, and serverless/Lambda functions).

Deployment & Delivery: Build and maintain automated CI/CD pipelines while operating comfortably in a fully containerized Docker environment.

Data Engineering: Manage and structure data across both relational (PostgreSQL, MariaDB) and non-relational (MongoDB) databases, including handling complex migrations between the two.

Location/Hours: 100% Remote within the US. Must be flexible to accommodate morning standups (which can start as early as 10:30 AM EST / 7:30 AM PST). You must have the authorization to work in the US to become an employee.

qualifications: Required Qualifications

Experience: 5+ years of overall professional software engineering experience.

Language Expertise: 4+ years of rigorous, professional-level experience developing with TypeScript and JavaScript. Expert-level proficiency in Node.js is strictly required.

Education: Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.

Agile Mindset: Demonstrated success working within and advocating for Agile methodologies.

Preferred "Bonus" Skills

Prior experience with GraphQL.

A background or interest in IoT (Internet of Things) device development.

Proven experience successfully leading SQL-to-NoSQL database migrations.
