Job description
This is a large-scale migration initiative moving legacy MS SQL/on-prem data platforms to SAP Datasphere on SAP BTP, with strong relevance to utilities and energy domain use cases.
This role will be responsible for leading the overall data architecture and defining the migration approach. We are looking for someone who can operate at both a strategic and hands-on level.
Key expectations include:
- Driving end-to-end data architecture for migration from MS SQL/on-prem systems to SAP Datasphere
- Defining the migration approach across extraction, loading, transformation, and remediation
- Designing scalable data models and a governed semantic layer for analytics and reporting
- Translating complex SQL logic (joins, filters, KPIs, stored procedures) into Datasphere-based models
- Establishing data integration patterns using SAP BTP services, APIs, and replication frameworks
- Defining data governance, lineage, and security standards
- Supporting downstream analytics integration (Power BI, SAC, etc.)
- Ensuring performance optimization and cloud scalability
Requirements
Strong experience in SAP Datasphere, SAP BTP, HANA, and legacy system migration (especially MS SQL/ETL tools) is required. Utility or energy domain experience will be a big plus.
