Google AI Gemini Developer / Full-Stack Engineer (Contract)Location: Northamptonshire Working Model: Hybrid (2 days onsite / 3 days remote)Contract Length: 6 monthsInterviews: Week commencing 4th May via Google MeetupStart Date: 18th or 25th May 2026Day Rate: £350-£400 per day Overview A PE-backed organisation based in Northamptonshire is seeking a Gemini-focused AI Developer to support the delivery of AI proof-of-concept initiatives. This role is ideal for mid-level developers with hands-on experience building solutions using Google AI / Gemini, who enjoy working closely with stakeholders in an on-site, collaborative environment. Due to the nature of the work, candidates must be willing to be on-site 2 days per week, Mondays and Tuesdays, in Northamptonshire, near Rugby and Daventry. Key Responsibilities

  • Design and deliver AI proofs of concept leveraging Google AI / Gemini
  • Build and integrate full-stack applications powered by Large Language Models (LLMs)
  • Develop systems that interact with Gemini APIs, alongside other LLMs such as ChatGPT and Claude
  • Implement AI-driven features, including prompt workflows, data processing, and system integrations
  • Develop AI automation for simple and repetitive tasks
  • Deploy and support AI solutions on Google Cloud infrastructure
  • Collaborate closely with on-site enterprise teams to rapidly prototype and iterate solutions

Requirements

  • Commercial experience as a Developer / Engineer / Programmer
  • Hands-on experience developing with Google AI / Gemini
  • Strong understanding of LLM integration patterns and API-based communication
  • Full-stack development experience (frontend and backend integration)
  • Experience working within cloud environments
  • Ability and willingness to work onsite in Northamptonshire, near Rugby and Daventry 2 days per week

Desirable Experience

  • Experience integrating multiple LLMs (Gemini, ChatGPT, Claude)
  • Previous work delivering AI proofs-of-concept or innovation projects
  • Enterprise or large-scale project experience
  • Exposure to Azure or multi-cloud environments
