Job description

We're looking for an experienced Cloud Engineer to take ownership of our hybrid cloud and on-prem environment, driving automation, reliability, and scale. You'll work hands-on across Azure and Microsoft 365, using Terraform and Helm to enable fast, secure delivery, balancing innovation with stability in a high-impact platform role., · Act as the primary point of ownership for DevOps-related changes, supporting delivery of the technology roadmap

· Provide technical leadership on infrastructure projects and operational initiatives

· Maintain and optimise Azure Cloud services, with a focus on scalability, security, governance, and cost control

· Manage Microsoft 365, Intune, and Defender (Endpoint, Identity, Cloud), ensuring compliance, patching, and a strong security posture

· Support and enhance hybrid infrastructure, including Windows Server, virtualisation, storage, and on-premises environments

· Administer and harden FortiGate firewalls and UniFi switching, ensuring resilient connectivity and secure configuration

· Implement infrastructure automation and deployment pipelines using Terraform and Helm

· Configure, monitor, and tune alerting using Azure Monitor, Microsoft Sentinel, New Relic, and related tools

· Drive backup, disaster recovery, and high-availability strategies across critical workloads

· Provide clear, authoritative technical guidance to Service Operations, Cyber Security, and wider Technology stakeholders

· Lead incident investigations, root-cause analysis, and proactive remediation activities

· Work with third-party partners and vendors to ensure reliable, secure service delivery

Requirements

· Extensive experience in a similar cloud, technical or infrastructure role.

· Expert understanding of Azure IaaS/PaaS, networking, identity and governance models.

· Strong knowledge of Microsoft 365, Intune, Conditional Access, Autopilot.

· Proven experience with Terraform and HELM for automated deployment.

· Skilled in FortiGate firewalls, Unifi networking, and hybrid cloud connectivity.

· Solid grasp of Windows Server (2016+), Linux

· Understanding of virtualisation and containerisation technologies.

· Experience with monitoring and logging platforms (Sentinel, New Relic, Kibana, etc.).

· Experience of administrating GCP.

· Strong knowledge with Azure Kubernetes.
