The Health and Human Services (HHS) IT Deliver Center is searching for an Applications Developer 1 to help build and support the technology that drives critical services across the Department of Human Services, Department of Health, Department of Drug and Alcohol Programs, and the Pennsylvania Department of Aging. Take your IT career up a notch with us!, As an Application Developer 1, you will serve as a key member of the Test Automation Unit, supporting the development, maintenance, and execution of automated testing solutions for enterprise and internal applications used across multiple Commonwealth program offices. You will function as a technical resource throughout the Software Development Life Cycle, helping ensure applications meet functional, performance, and accessibility standards. Core responsibilities include contributing to automated testing frameworks, load-testing initiatives, robotic process automation efforts, and accessibility compliance testing in collaboration with application teams, business partners, and contractors. Requirements
- One year as an Information Technology Trainee or Computer Programmer 2 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
- Three years of information technology experience that includes one year of experience in applications development or applications maintenance; or
- One year of information technology experience in applications development or applications maintenance, and an associate's degree in any information technology field; or

- Full-time employment
- Work hours will range from 8:00 AM - 5:00PM (candidate may decide schedule). Lunch period will be based on selected work schedule (30 minute or 1 hour lunch).
- Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time. You will be required to report in-office at minimum 2 days per week. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time. - Salary: Selected candidates who are new to employment with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $59,345.00 (before taxes).
