Job description

The Technical Support Engineer II (TSE) will be part of a team of support engineers as part of a fast-paced support organization with the primary mission to provide world class support to Rocket's customers and partners. The TSE will assist Rocket customers with questions and problems regarding the installation, setup, configuration and functionality of Rocket Software products. This person will troubleshoot reported symptoms to aid in the resolution process either directly for the customer or to help guide the development team in providing permanent solutions., * Identify and complete tasks in a fast-paced dynamic environment.

  • Effectively and efficiently work with customers and partners to resolve reported problems.
  • Tracking all customer contact within approved tracking systems.

Requirements

  • BS degree in Computer Science/Information Technology.
  • 2+ years' experience working in an IBM z/OS environment as a Systems Programmer, DBA or Application Developer.
  • 1+ years' experience working with 1 or more z/OS Database or application development platforms, such as CICS, IMS, ADABAS, IDMS or VSAM.
  • Experience with JCL, ISPF and SMP/E.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Solid analytical and troubleshooting skills, specifically dealing with IBM z/OS and TCP/IP.
  • Strong customer service skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills., * BS degree in Computer Science/Information Technology.

Desired Skills

  • Knowledge of Web Services standards (SOAP, WSDL, WS-*), REST, Applications Servers (WebSphere, Oracle), HTTP, SSL, HTTP/S, TCP protocols.
  • Knowledge/experience with ODBC/JDBC.
  • Knowledge/experience of DB2 utilities and DB2 stored procedures.
  • Knowledge/experience of DB2 LUW.
  • Knowledge/experience with Visual Studio .NET.
  • Knowledge/experience in z/OS Cobol or Natural.
  • Knowledge/experience in Microsoft SQL Server or Oracle
  • Knowledge/experience working with RACF, ACF2 or Top Secret.
  • Operating systems: IBM z/OS, Windows, Red Hat Linux, Sun Solaris.
  • Knowledge/experience with the following is a plus: IBM InfoSphere Data Replication (Replication and CDC) or Rocket Data Replication and Sync/tcVision

Education Requirements:

  • BS degree in Computer Science/Information Technology.

Benefits & conditions

Annual salary range for this position is between $57,500.00 - $77,625.00 gross before taxes.
