Job description
The Networking Solutions Specialist acts as the technical point of contact for networking solutions and serves as an intermediary to route opportunities to the appropriate resources. This role aligns closely with sales teams to support solution growth objectives. The Networking Solutions Specialist brings advanced technical expertise within their core networking discipline and maintains intermediate knowledge across adjacent technology areas. This individual builds and sustains strategic relationships with Sellers, Solution Architects, and Solutions Specialists from other practice areas and is regarded as a trusted partner in driving business growth.
What You Will Do
- Maintains advanced knowledge of networking solutions to discover, qualify, recommend, and compare products and services
- Explains the features, benefits, and technical specifications of primary, secondary, emerging, complementary, and advanced networking technologies
- Maintains intermediate-level knowledge of adjacent technologies, including security, data center, cloud connectivity, wireless, SD-WAN, load balancing, and related disciplines
- Engages with customers and prospects to uncover business needs, discuss solutions at a conceptual level, and recommend relevant networking solutions
- Uncovers additional related solutions through discovery beyond the original networking scope
- Participates in CDW customer events, delivering business-focused networking presentations through virtual platforms
- Contributes to the sales team's knowledge base and shares information with Solution Specialists and Sales
- Provides Sales with best practices and guidance on identifying and communicating networking solutions and services opportunities
- Counsels Sales on foundational networking concepts and the competitive landscape
- Collaborates regularly with Integrated Technology Solutions (ITS) coworkers to align on go-to-market strategies
- Attends required partner and specialist training, along with independent learning, labs, and certification work
- Maintains strategic relationships with CDW's networking partners
- Attains role-level certifications within primary and adjacent networking disciplines
- Explains, at a high level, how networking technologies are installed and implemented
- Determines whether to triage or directly support opportunities presented to the networking specialist based on complexity and scope
- Handles prioritization of multiple responsibilities and concurrent opportunities
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience, OR 3+ years of technical solutions sales and/or hands-on networking experience
- Demonstrated success engaging with and supporting sales teams
- Ability to execute against territory goals and performance metrics
- Adaptability to changing business needs, practice priorities, and team coverage models
- Ability to present networking solutions and deliver technical recommendations to both technical and non-technical audiences
- Ability to think creatively and develop proactive ideas that drive sales growth
- Strong passion for learning and teaching others
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Self-motivated and able to work independently
- Ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly to non-technical audiences
- Proven success and experience selling networking solutions and services, is a plus

Benefits & conditions
Pay range: $52,000 - $95,300 depending on experience and skill set Annual bonus target of 25% subject to terms and conditions of plan Benefits overview: https://cdw.benefit-info.com/ Salary ranges may be subject to geographic differentials
