Job description

We are seeking a Enterprise Architect II for a leading Fortune 500 Energy Utility client. This role is not a traditional "backend" IT role; it is a strategic position that sits at the intersection of business operations and technology.

The primary focus is Business Architecture. You will be responsible for ensuring that IT strategies are tightly aligned with business objectives, organizational capabilities, and large-scale transformation initiatives (such as grid modernization and digital customer experience)., * Architectural Modeling: Design and maintain the "blueprint" for enterprise-wide systems, including software, hardware, and communications.

  • Business Alignment: Establish system information requirements by analyzing business workflows and planning corrective actions for organizational efficiency.
  • Roadmapping: Develop and maintain business architecture frameworks, capability models, and roadmaps to support 3-5 year strategic goals.
  • Compliance: Ensure all solutions comply with industry-standard IT architectures and common operating environment (COE) standards.
  • Technical Leadership: Provide daily direction to staff and mentor software engineering teams on design patterns, frameworks, and alternative technical options.

Requirements

  • Experience: 2-4 years of practical experience in Enterprise Architecture, Software Engineering, or Systems Analysis.
  • Certification (Required): TOGAF (The Open Group Architecture Framework) certification is mandatory for this role.
  • Tools: Strong working experience with Enterprise Architecture (EA) tools. Specific experience with Ardoq is highly preferred (candidates with experience in LeanIX, Bizzdesign, or Hopex will also be considered).
  • Business Architecture: Expertise in capability modeling, process architecture, value stream mapping, and aligning IT with enterprise strategy.
  • Technical Breadth: Experience with broad technology delivery, including custom software development and vendor evaluations.
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field is required. An MBA or related advanced degree is preferred.
