Job description

We are seeking an experienced Solution Architect to lead the design and delivery of highly complex, mission-critical solutions that integrate with a wide range of existing public safety, security, and enterprise infrastructure systems. This role requires deep technical expertise in systems integration, networking, video security platforms, and IT architecture, along with the ability to translate customer requirements into scalable, secure, and high-performing solution designs. You will serve as a technical authority in the field while working closely with Product and Engineering to inform roadmap decisions, integration strategy, and platform scalability.

The ideal candidate combines deep technical expertise with executive-level communication skills and thrives in high-stakes, client-facing environments. This role requires extensive domestic travel, hands-on leadership during deployments, and the ability to translate real-world operational challenges into product and engineering direction.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Solution Architecture & Design

  • Architect end-to-end solutions for complex, multi-system deployments integrating hardware, software, firmware, video management systems, analytics, sensors, and public safety platforms
  • Define scalable, secure integration frameworks connecting new product capabilities with legacy customer environments
  • Produce clear architecture artifacts including system diagrams, data flows, and integration specifications

Systems Integration Leadership

  • Work closely with Product and Engineering teams to identify hardware, software, and firmware gaps, and propose holistic, scalable solutions that improve platform performance and market readiness.
  • Partner closely with Product and Engineering to define APIs, middleware, messaging patterns, and integration best practices
  • Lead integrations with third-party platforms including CAD, VMS, LPR, analytics engines, and sensor systems
  • Ensure interoperability across on-premise, cloud, and hybrid architectures
  • Provide continuous field feedback to steer product capabilities and engineering priorities

Networking, Infrastructure & Video Expertise

  • Design deployments across enterprise IT environments including LAN/WAN, VLANs, routing, switching, VPNs, firewalls, and QoS
  • Support high-bandwidth video ingestion, real-time streaming, and edge computing architectures
  • Integrate IP camera ecosystems using standards such as ONVIF and RTSP, working with VMS platforms including Genetec, Milestone, and Avigilon
  • Recommend and validate video encoders and edge hardware appropriate to deployment constraints

Customer Engagement & Deployment Leadership

  • Serve as the technical authority during customer workshops, solution planning, and executive discussions
  • Assess customer IT maturity and guide stakeholders through required network, security, and infrastructure changes
  • Lead on-site implementations, troubleshoot complex issues in real time, and train customer teams for sustained operations
  • Act as a product evangelist, demonstrating value, influencing adoption paths, and identifying expansion opportunities
  • Provide engaging product and service demonstrations that clearly convey both technical capabilities and business value, enabling customers to make confident purchase decisions.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work with Sales to define technical scope, pricing inputs, and RFP responses
  • Partner with Project Management to ensure scope, cost, and timeline clarity early in the deployment lifecycle
  • Document deployments and deliver post-installation reports to ensure long-term success

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or equivalent experience
  • 8+ years of experience in solutions architecture, systems integration, or enterprise deployments
  • Proven experience deploying hardware and video ingestion solutions in complex IT environments
  • Willingness and ability to travel up to 75 percent domestically
  • Must be eligible to obtain and maintain CJIS compliance, including successful completion of applicable law enforcement background checks.

Core Technical Skills

  • Networking, TCP/IP, VLANs, QoS, firewalls, SD-WAN, VPNs, Zero Trust architectures
  • IT infrastructure including Linux and Windows servers, virtualization, cloud integration, and edge computing
  • Video systems including IP cameras, H.264 and H.265 encoding, NVRs, and real-time streaming protocols
  • API integration using REST, JSON, Webhooks, and vendor SDKs
  • Security and compliance knowledge aligned to NIST, CJIS, or similar frameworks
  • Diagnostic and deployment tools including Wireshark, iPerf, SNMP, and scripting

What Success Looks Like

  • You project confidence as a trusted technical authority in front of customers and internal teams
  • You translate field realities into actionable product and engineering improvements
  • You navigate resistance, ambiguity, and operational pressure with composure and influence
  • You balance hands-on technical depth with strategic thinking and customer empathy
  • You identify areas to improve and distill them into actionable insights
