Job description
You will be a key member of the Distributed Architecture team, providing storage architecture leadership across Fiserv's on-premises data centers and cloud environments. This role partners with application, infrastructure, cloud, and network teams to design secure, scalable, and resilient storage solutions that support critical business services. The ideal candidate is forward-thinking, vendor-savvy, and automation-focused, helping drive innovation while ensuring operational excellence and data protection.
What you'll do:
- Provide architectural leadership for block, file, object, SAN, NAS, and backup storage solutions across data center and cloud environments
- Collaborate with application owners, business leaders, and infrastructure architects to design storage solutions aligned with business and technical needs
- Participate in planning sessions and architecture reviews, offering consultative expertise across multiple organizations
- Design and implement storage platforms optimized for performance, scalability, reliability, and cost efficiency
- Architect and support data protection solutions, including encryption, immutability, backup, and disaster recovery
- Manage relationships with storage vendors, including evaluation, procurement, and delivery support
- Drive automation initiatives enabling self-service and self-healing storage platforms
- Mentor junior-level architects and engineers while promoting architectural standards and best practices, * Fiserv emphasizes in-person collaboration to help you grow your career while shaping the future of fintech; this role is on-site Monday through Friday
- This role may require flexibility to support planning activities across multiple time zones
- This role requires use of a computer and audio equipment, * All offers of employment are contingent on standard background checks. Fiserv and certain of its affiliated companies are federal, state, and/or local government contractors. Should this position support a Federal Government contract, now or in the future, the successful candidate will be subject to a background check conducted by the U.S. Government to determine eligibility and suitability for federal contract employment for public trust or sensitive positions. Travel:
- Approximately 10-20% travel to Fiserv offices, data centers, or vendor locations may be expected.

Salary Range
$146,000.00 - $244,800.00
These pay ranges apply to employees in New Jersey and New York. Pay ranges for employees in other states may differ.

For incentive eligible associates, the successful candidate is eligible for an annual incentive opportunity which may be delivered as a mix of cash bonus and equity awards in the Company's sole discretion.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
- 10+ years of hands-on experience with enterprise storage technologies
- Experience with block, NAS, SAN, object storage, and enterprise backup solutions
- Proven ability to design tiered storage architectures supporting performance, scalability, and resilience
- Experience delivering solutions across multi-site and geographically distributed environments
- Demonstrated automation skills with ability to articulate design approaches
- Strong verbal, written, and technical communication skills
- Ability to prioritize and execute effectively in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
Experience that would be great to have:
- Hands-on experience with Pure, Dell, Infinidat, and NetApp storage platforms
- Experience with enterprise backup technologies such as Rubrik or equivalent solutions
- Experience developing and validating disaster recovery strategies
- Familiarity with regulated environments including PCI, SOX, or similar frameworks
- Experience mentoring engineers or architects in large enterprise environments
