Job description
As a Lead Cybersecurity Engineer, you will be a subject matter expert and hands-on leader, specializing in Microsoft technologies for data governance and collaboration. Your primary focus will be to secure our data through policy development, advanced automation, and technology integration.
- Data Security Engineering: Lead the development, testing, and implementation of DLP rules and policies within our data security platform, Microsoft Purview, to control sensitive information flow.
- Microsoft Technology Governance: Serve as a subject matter expert for securing and governing data within Microsoft technologies, including SharePoint Online, OneDrive, and Power Platform.
- Automation Development: Create and implement automation solutions using Power Platform, PowerShell, or other scripting languages to enhance security incident response and streamline data governance processes.
- Data Classification and Labeling: Drive and govern initiatives related to Microsoft Sensitivity Labels for data classification, encryption, and Information Rights Management (IRM).
- Enterprise Integration: Integrate data security solutions with other enterprise platforms, including data scanning technologies (e.g., BigID, SecuritiAI) and data governance tools (e.g., Solidatus, Alation).
- Strategic Advisement: Advise and coordinate with cross-functional teams to establish sustainable security processes that protect data while minimizing impact to end-users.
- Reporting and Governance: Accurately report on the effectiveness of DLP policies and communicate security concerns to stakeholders at all levels.
Requirements
- Experience: 8+ proven years of experience as a Lead Cybersecurity Engineer, focusing on data security, data loss prevention, and Microsoft technologies.
- Microsoft Security Stack: Deep expertise in Microsoft DLP (Purview), Sensitivity Labels, and security features within SharePoint Online and OneDrive.
- Scripting & Automation: Strong scripting and development skills, particularly with PowerShell and PowerPlatform (PowerApps, Power Automate).
- Data Security: Hands-on experience with data classification, encryption, and Data Scanning Technologies (MS AIP / MIP Scanner, BigID, etc.).
- Governance & Compliance: Understanding of data governance principles and experience in developing and implementing security policies in a large enterprise.
- Communication & Collaboration: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a track record of effective collaboration and project coordination across teams.
ADDITIONAL VAULABLE SKILLS:
- Consulting background as a subject matter expert.
- Software development or automation background.
- Experience with other data transfer technologies (e.g., IBM MFT, SDRs).
- Familiarity with other data governance or analytics tools (e.g., Alation, Solidatus).
