Develop, execute, and maintain WAN and SSR-specific test plans in a classified environment Perform WAN performance testing, fault isolation, validation, and troubleshooting Test and evaluate Session Smart Router (Juniper SSR) or equivalent SD-WAN / WAN edge platforms Validate network behavior under normal, degraded, and failure scenarios Document test procedures, results, findings, and recommendations Collaborate with network engineering, architecture, and operations teams Support continuous improvement of WAN and SSR testing methodologies Contribute to Ansible-based automation efforts, as applicable
Requirements
We are seeking a mid-to-senior level SSR / WAN Network Test Engineer to support a classified Department of Defense (DoD) program. The ideal candidate is a seasoned Network Engineer with hands-on expertise in Session Smart Router (SSR) platforms, WAN architecture, and structured network testing methodologies. This role focuses on validating WAN performance, resilience, and functionality in secure government environments., 7+ years of professional experience in network engineering Demonstrated hands-on experience with SSR (Session Smart Router / Juniper SSR) or equivalent SD-WAN / WAN edge technologies Proven WAN testing experience, including performance validation and fault isolation Ability to develop and execute structured network test plans Strong understanding of WAN architectures and routing fundamentals Active Secret clearance Ability to work onsite at one of the designated locations, Experience supporting DoD or classified environments Exposure to Ansible or other network automation tools Familiarity with formal test methodologies and validation frameworks Experience operating in mission-critical, high-availability networks
