Job description
The Implementation Consultant leads end-to-end client implementations of the Bentek platform owning project planning, requirements discovery, cross-functional coordination, data/integration readiness, testing, and go-live while keeping clients informed and projects on time and within scope.
- Lead implementations from kickoff through go-live (plan, milestones, deliverables, governance)
- Run client status meetings; manage risks, dependencies, and action items
- Translate benefits/HRIS/payroll requirements into clear configuration specs.
- Configures platform according to spec.
- Coordinate data migration, carrier/payroll integrations, and UAT/testing
- Partner with internal teams to deliver a smooth transition to Client Succes
The Implementation Consultant (IC) leads end-to-end client implementations of the Bentek platform. Reporting to the Implementation Manager, the IC owns project planning and governance, requirements discovery, documentation, cross-functional coordination, and client communication to ensure implementations and renewals are delivered on time and within the defined scope of services.
- Owns the implementation project plan from kickoff through go-live, including milestones, deliverables, decision points, and stakeholder responsibilities.
- Facilitates recurring client status meetings, drives action items to closure, and communicates progress, risks, and timeline impacts to clients and internal leadership.
- Leads discovery to gather benefit plan documentation, eligibility requirements, payroll/HRIS details, vendor contacts, and current-state processes; validates requirements against the contracted scope.
- Analyzes employer business rules and administrative practices (benefit administration, payroll deductions, eligibility, retiree/union groups) and translates them into documented configuration requirements.
- Documents and obtains approval of eligibility rules, workflows, plan designs, rates, and required forms/materials used for system configuration and annual renewals.
- Manages implementation documentation, including benefit and rate specification documents, configuration sign-offs, and audit trails in accordance with Bentek standards.
- Partners with technical teams to coordinate data migration activities (data extracts, mapping, initial data audits, cleansing, and loads) and to resolve data discrepancies.
- Coordinates carrier, payroll, and third-party integrations by collecting file requirements and supporting setup, testing, troubleshooting, and readiness for production.
- Leads internal quality assurance activities, including configuration peer review, end-to-end test scenario validation, and coordination of User Acceptance Testing (UAT) with the client.
- Provides proactive, timely client communication on deliverables, due dates, decisions needed, and next steps; maintains accurate implementation status in the client portal.
- Prepares and leads client meetings/calls (kickoff, discovery, configuration review, testing, training, and go-live readiness), including agendas and documented action items.
- Collaborates closely with the Implementation Manager and cross-functional partners (Client Success, Engineering/Technical Support, and Solutions/EDI) to ensure a coordinated client experience.
- Tracks issues, risks, and dependencies; escalates blockers; and implements mitigation plans to keep projects on schedule and within scope.
- Coordinates go-live planning and transition to Client Success, including training delivery, final validations, and support readiness.
- Builds collaborative relationships with client representatives (HR, Payroll, IT, Benefits) and Partners (Brokers, Carriers) to ensure timely decisions and accurate implementation outcomes.
- Maintains client-facing implementation materials in the Bentek client portal (status, deliverables, documentation, and communication history).
- Contributes to continuous improvement initiatives (templates, checklists, playbooks, and process enhancements) and other projects as assigned.
Requirements
- Is Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel) and comfortable learning new web-based systems.
- Knowledge of benefits enrollment/administration and/or HRIS, payroll, or ERP platforms.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to lead client meetings and translate complex requirements into clear documentation.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple timelines, prioritize competing demands, and maintain attention to detail.
- Self-motivated and proactive with regard to identifying issues, escalating risks, and driving resolution.
- Experience with project tracking tools (e.g., Jira) and project plans/schedules (e.g., Microsoft Project) is a plus.
- Exposure to data migration, eligibility/payroll audits, carrier file testing (e.g., 834 or custom formats), and UAT coordination is preferred., * Bachelor's degree in human resources, Business Administration, Information Systems, or a related field (or an equivalent combination of education and experience) is highly preferred.
- Prior experience implementing, configuring, or working with Benefits Administration/HRIS/ERP, or similar software is highly preferred.
- 1-3 years of professional experience in HR/Benefits preferred.
- Valid Driver's license is required.
