Job description

The IT Project Manager 1 within HR Innovation and Strategic Support (HRISS) collaborates on delivering technological initiatives that support HR systems and services. This role assists with planning, tracking, and coordinating project activities to ensure the successful execution of solutions that enhance operational efficiency, data quality, and user experience.

Working as part of a team, the Project Manager 1 supports a portfolio of initiatives that may include system enhancements, integrations, automation efforts, and AI-enabled solutions such as chatbots, agentic AI agents, and intelligent service tools. The role contributes to project planning activities, including task definition, sequencing, and timeline tracking, and monitors progress against scope and schedule.

The position coordinates project components and takes ownership of assigned tasks and deliverables. The Project Manager 1 supports stakeholder engagement by ensuring clear communication of project scope, objectives, timelines, and status, and contributes to project decision-making by providing analysis, status insights, and recommendations within defined areas of responsibility.

The role assists in managing risks, tracking deliverables, and coordinating with cross-functional stakeholders, including HR partners, analysts, and technical teams. The role also supports documentation, reporting, and communication activities to ensure transparency and alignment across project teams.

In an evolving technology environment, the Project Manager 1 supports delivery approaches that may include Agile or iterative methods, contributing to continuous improvement and innovation initiatives. Assignments are routine to moderately complex and performed under guidance, with decisions guided by established policies and procedures.

Requirements

1.Familiarity with Agile or iterative project delivery methodologies. Familiarity with automation initiatives, workflow tools, or system integration concepts.

2.Exposure to enterprise platforms such as Workday, Salesforce, or similar systems.

3.Ability to support project coordination across multiple stakeholders, including scheduling, meeting facilitation, and follow-up tracking.

4.Attention to detail in managing project documentation, status reporting, and deliverables.

5.Ability to contribute to project planning, risk identification, and issue resolution within defined areas of responsibility

Preferred Skills and Abilities

At least one year of experience supporting projects or project-related work, internship, academic, or professional experience.

Principal Responsibilities

  1. Assist with the planning, tracking, and reporting on the performance of multiple ongoing projects. 2. Effectively manage routine project risks. 3. Coordinate and perform technical aspects of project, research issues. 4. Review, evaluate, and monitor cost schedule and technical scope baselines. 5. Assist with the preparation and delivery of required project documentation. 6. Prepare and provide routine project status updates. Required Education and Experience Bachelor's Degree and no experience or equivalent education and experience. Skills and Abilities Knowledge of information technology applications, processes, software, and equipment. Knowledge of IT project management principles (e.g., Agile) and software. Analytical, critical thinking and problem-solving skills. Interpersonal, written, communication, presentation, and organizational skills.
