Job description

The Senior Manager, Automation Engineering leads the design, integration, and continuous improvement of hands free RFID solutions. This role leverages advanced data analysis and project management to drive operational excellence and process optimization. Collaborating across teams, the position influences strategic decisions through clear communication and data-driven insights. The role also oversees technology implementation, ensures alignment with business objectives, and fosters a culture of innovation and efficiency to enhance overall performance and deliver measurable value to the organization., Our team leads initiatives to improve inventory accuracy and product location by integrating efforts across stores, supply chain, and technology. We focus on testing, validating, and scaling capabilities to enhance product visibility and system reliability. Collaborating across functions, we ensure timely product availability aligned with customer needs. The team emphasizes strategic decision-making, process improvement, and performance measurement to drive continuous operational excellence. By leveraging data analysis, automation, and project management, we deliver impactful business results that support Walmart's commitment to efficient and reliable supply chain operations.

What you'll do...

RFID & Automation Leadership

  • Lead hands-free RFID solution design and rollout
  • Partner with product, engineering, and store ops to embed RFID into workflows
  • Drive successful deployment, adoption, and performance at pilot and scale

Analytics & Measurement

  • Build integrated datasets across RFID, inventory accuracy, nil picks, and sales
  • Define standard KPIs to measure RFID performance and impact
  • Automate pipelines for scalable, repeatable analytics

Pilot Execution & Performance Evaluation

  • Design and execute pilot measurement approaches (pre/post, test vs. control where applicable)
  • Analyze pilot results to determine effectiveness, scalability, and ROI of RFID solutions
  • Identify risks, gaps, and opportunities to improve performance

Insights & Recommendations

  • Translate complex analyses into clear, actionable insights for senior leadership
  • Communicate progress, outcomes, and strategic implications to cross-functional stakeholders
  • Influence decisions through data-driven storytelling and strong business acumen

Cross-Functional Leadership

  • Partner with Store Operations, Merchandising, Supply Chain, Finance, and Technology teams
  • Align business objectives with technical solutions and analytics outputs

Continuous Improvement

  • Identify process and system improvements to enhance RFID performance and operational efficiency
  • Drive standardization and best practices across deployments

Requirements

  • 6-10 years of experience in engineering, analytics, or operations within retail, supply chain, or large-scale environments
  • Hands-on experience with RFID systems, sensor-based technologies, or automation solutions
  • Experience designing and interpreting pilot tests and performance analyses
  • Proven project management experience across cross-functional teams
  • Ability to translate complex data into clear, business-focused insights
