Description

SAIC is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to support the US Navy in Silverdale, WA.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

The Senior Systems Engineer will serve as the Training and Test Lead assisting in the day-to-day planning and coordination activities for at-sea system shakedown events, Fleet training/workups, and other activities to support submarine and undersea systems employment.

JOB DUTIES:

Planning and coordinating maintenance availabilities, alteration installations, operator training and operations for submarine and undersea systems that have or are preparing to enter operations and maintenance phases, beyond Initial Operational Capability (IOC).

Facilitating the coordination between NAVSEA, the Shipyard, and Fleet activities for the planning, execution, and documentation of maintenance availabilities, engineering changes and alterations (eg. ECIs, SHIPALTS, TEMPALTs) including SUBSAFE and DSS-SOC work, and supply support.

Implementing processes for configuration management and document control, deviation/departure tracking and management, schedule/milestone establishment and tracking, and cost estimation and control.

Coordinating and participating in programmatic and technical status meetings/reviews, developing inputs, documenting proceedings, and tracking action items.

Qualifications

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND CLEARANCE:

  • Bachelor's degree and nine (9)+ years of relevant experience, additional years of experience accepted in lieu of a degree.
  • 10 years of experience with submarine life-cycle management and/or in-service support
  • 2 years of experience in the following areas:
  • Coordinating between NAVSEA, shipyard and squadron for SEAWOLF class submarines
  • Ensuring compliance with Joint Fleet Maintenance Manual processes and procedures.
  • Candidate must be a US Citizen.
  • Must have a TS/SCI clearance with the ability to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI with CI Polygraph.

Target salary range: $120,001 - $160,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
