Location: Charlotte, NC- will be remote to start but will be required to go onsite to uptown CLT office 3 days a week- Locals only MUST BE ABLE TO PASS CODING & VIDEO ASSESSMENT We are modernizing our Financial Crimes technology ecosystem, transitioning from a legacy data environment to a cloud native platform on Google Cloud Platform (GCP). This role will support the development of a modern data and platform foundation used for financial crimes detection, investigation, and regulatory reporting across multiple businesses. You will play a key role in building scalable data pipelines, modernizing data warehousing, and supporting real time transactional systems that power critical Financial Crimes use cases., * Design, build, and maintain a modern Financial Crimes data and platform architecture on Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
- Migrate and modernize data from legacy Hadoop and mainframe systems into cloud-based solutions.
- Develop and optimize data warehouses using BigQuery and other GCP-native services.
- Build and maintain Python-based data pipelines supporting analytics, detection, and reporting use cases.
- Support a real-time, transactional platform leveraging Hydra / PostgreSQL for operational Financial Crimes workflows.
- Collaborate with engineering, product, and compliance teams across multiple companies to deliver end-to-end Financial Crimes solutions.
- Contribute to the development of a new UI platform as part of the broader modernization initiative.
- Ensure data reliability, scalability, security, and performance to meet regulatory and audit requirements.
- Participate in platform and architectural decisions as the organization evaluates tooling strategy and talent models.

Requirements
- Overall engineering experience should be a minimum of 5+ years of engineering experience, * Strong experience building data platforms or data engineering solutions in cloud environments.
- Hands-on experience with GCP, particularly BigQuery and related services.
- Proficiency in Python for data processing and pipeline development.
- Experience working with relational databases such as PostgreSQL.
- Background supporting or modernizing legacy data platforms (e.g., Hadoop, mainframe).
- Ability to work across teams and companies in a complex, regulated environment., * Experience in Financial Crimes, Risk, Compliance, or Regulatory Reporting domains.
- Familiarity with real-time or near real time data processing systems.
- Exposure to building or supporting cloud-based UI platforms.
- Experience designing platforms that support detection, investigation, and reporting workflows.
