Job description
We are seeking an Assistant Vice President - Data Management to lead enterprise data improvement and cloud migration initiatives. The role partners with senior leaders and Agile teams to strengthen data governance, quality, and enable digitization and generative AI across ratings, research, and ESG.
- Lead data taxonomy, attribute definition, and continuous improvement initiatives to enable scalable digital solutions, including the Digital Ratings Platform (DRP).
- Own end to end data migration strategy-assessing data sources, defining requirements, mapping data lineage, and migrating legacy data to modern infrastructure.
- Partner with technology, data, and process teams in Agile pods to design next generation data structures, governance frameworks, and business data requirements.
- Establish and monitor data quality KPIs, provide data insights through SQL based analysis, and act as the primary contact for reporting and data services.
- Drive change by challenging the status quo, introducing innovative data solutions, and governing data changes aligned with enterprise transformation goals.
About the team The ROC Data Governance & Quality team drives data and process design and change management for scalable digitisation across critical business initiatives including workflows, analytics and ESG services. The group works collectively with stakeholders in other lines of business, Product Management, User Experience designers, developers, control functions and others to document current state processes, define critical requirements for improvement, identify and map required data elements and lead simplification initiatives. The group works in an agile, product-centric operating model that delivers digital solutions and incremental improvements to process, data, and user tools. Moody's is an equal opportunity employer. Requirements
- 10+ years of experience in data management and enterprise data transformation, including redesigning data content and improving end to end data lineages.
- Strong hands on expertise with SQL (required) and data governance / MDM tools such as Collibra, dBeaver, Access, Confluence, and Jira; experienced working in Agile environments.
- Proven ability to rationalize and structure large, complex, and unstructured data environments to improve accuracy, usability, and governance.
- Demonstrated success translating user and business needs into scalable data requirements embedded within digital platforms and process flows.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to simplify complex data concepts, influence senior leadership, navigate ambiguity, and drive consensus., * Professional data management qualifications (degree, diploma, certificate, etc.) and process certification (i.e., Yellow/Greenbelt) are pluses
