L'Oréal USA is seeking an HR Data Products Senior Analyst accountable and responsible for the sourcing, governance, and quality of HR data. Ensuring HR data assets are available, accurate, and trusted for analytics use cases in alignment with HR data standards. This role sits at the intersection of Human Resources, Data, and IT - responsible for ensuring that HR data is strategically positioned to power workforce decisions across the organization., Data Sets, Roadmaps & Business Objects
- Work with the HR Data team to define the HR shared data set roadmap.
- Lead the execution of data delivery projects, prioritized according to HR Analytics use case needs, ensuring timely and successful delivery.
- Prepare data for HR Analytics use cases by defining data structures and requirements in partnership with HR Data & Analytics team.
- Identify HR data sources to be added to shared data sets and manage their prioritization.
- Manage and prioritize the local HR shared dataset backlog, working with IT teams to sequence delivery against analytics roadmap priorities.
- Maintain data glossary documentation, manage current and complete data lineage maps, schemas, and business object information.
Data Sourcing, Modeling & Validation
- Author clear, structured user stories and technical requirements for IT to implement - specifying what data is needed, at what granularity, in what format, and with what synchronization cadence.
- Work with IT to source local HR data into the HR data platform - ensuring all ingestion follows integration standards consistent with the global HR data model.
- Design data models for each new local data source system: create visual mockups, define object structure, and collaborate iteratively with IT to validate and refine before implementation.
- Test data validation post-implementation, confirming the implementation matches requirements.
- In partnership with IT, validate that new HR data synchronizes cleanly with existing HR data tables
Data Governance & Standards
- Apply governance standards in the HR data domain aligned with the global HR data governance model.
- Manage cross-domain data sharing: when other data domains or business teams request HR data - assess the use case, confirm privacy compliance, and govern the sharing process end to end.
- Collaborate with data privacy to ensure all local HR data sourcing, storage, and sharing practices comply with applicable data principles.
- Provide technical guidance to team members on data management best practices.
Data Quality & Monitoring
- Implement the local HR data quality framework. Implement data quality rules, standards, and KPIs for the HR data domain.
- Align with global HR data quality standards where established; define local standards with business where they do not yet exist.
- Maintain local HR data quality dashboards providing visibility into data health & quality metrics.
- Proactively monitor data flows across the HR data environment, identifying potential quality issues before they surface in analytics outputs or business reports.
- Collaboratively support root cause analysis for identified data quality issues.
Data Extraction & Reporting
- Support stakeholders with periodic ad-hoc data needs - extracting data directly from the HR data platform via SQL or generating reports through HRIS systems.
- Support ongoing reporting needs by retrieving, validating, and preparing HR data for stakeholder consumption - ensuring outputs are accurate, timely, and compliant with governance standards.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Engineering, Computer Science, Analytics or related.
- Experience in data management, data engineering, or data governance.
- Experience with cloud data platforms (preferred not required).
- Experience working with HR data, systems, and processes. (preferred not required)
Knowledge & Abilities:
- Communication & Collaboration - Ability to work at the intersection of business and technology teams - translating business needs into technical data requirements.
- Data Modeling - Ability to design data models including business object definitions, schema structure, and database design.
- Data Governance - Understanding of data governance principles: data domains, business objects, data lineage, and quality management.
- Project Management - strong organizational skills to support delivery of cross-functional projects. Ability to make appropriate decisions supporting the data needs of multiple teams.
Technical Skills:
- SQL - Must be able to write and run complex queries: explore data structures, validate implementations, profile data quality, and build data models. (required).
- GIT -Ability to navigate repositories, review pull requests, and track changes to data models and SQL scripts.
- Power BI - Ability to build & review data models and reports, support data quality dashboard development and analytics partnership (preferred).
- Python - Ability to perform data profiling, scripted data transformation, or quality analysis (preferred not required).
