Job description
- Design, build, and deploy global DWDM networks to support growing business demands.
- Develop and implement scalable network designs to meet customer and operational requirements.
- Create and improve processes for building, operating, and maintaining optical networks.
- Collaborate with cross-functional networking teams to ensure seamless integration and operations.
- Evaluate new networking technologies and participate in vendor selection and commercial processes.
- Ensure compliance with defined network standards and best practices.
- Review, implement, and validate changes across optical and IP network systems.
- Drive operational excellence initiatives to improve network quality, performance, and reliability.
- Troubleshoot complex network issues and provide innovative, long-term solutions., * Optical & Transport: DWDM, SONET (OC3, OC48), T1/DS1, DS3
- Networking: IPv4, IPv6, TCP/IP, VLANs/STP (802.1d), Ethernet (802.2/3)
- Routing & Switching: BGP, OSPF, HSRP/GLBP
- Multicast & MPLS: PIMv2, IGMP, LDP
- Security & Access: TACACS, IPSEC, VPNs
- Monitoring & Protocols: NetFlow, DNS, HTTP
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in a technology-related field or equivalent experience.
- 7+ years of experience in network engineering or related roles.
- Strong experience in optical network planning, modeling tools, and DWDM network deployments.
- Solid understanding of IP networking fundamentals and protocols.
- Hands-on experience with major DWDM platforms (Ciena, Infinera, Cisco).
- Experience with major router platforms (Cisco, Juniper), including hardware components.
- Deep knowledge of routing protocols, especially BGP and OSPF.
- Strong analytical skills and advanced troubleshooting capabilities.
