Job description
We are building out an enterprise architecture function with a focus on AI adoption and governance, and we're looking for a seasoned Enterprise Architect to help lead the way. This is a strategic, high-visibility role that sits at the intersection of traditional enterprise architecture and applied AI - approximately 50/50. You'll evaluate tooling, set enterprise standards, and ensure the organization adopts AI in a structured, governed, and scalable way.
What You'll Do
- Evaluate AI and non-AI software requests and provide buy vs. build recommendations
- Assess AI products, estimate total cost of ownership, and recommend tooling and governance standards
- Build and manage governance frameworks - intake forms, coordination processes, and communications - to prevent shadow AI and keep teams aligned
- Bridge communication gaps across business, development, infrastructure, and data teams
- Advise solutions architects and help them learn the business context behind technology decisions
- Measure and drive AI maturity across the organization (L1 ? L3 progression)
Requirements
- 5+ years of enterprise architecture experience - proven, not theoretical
- A background in software development is strongly preferred - we want an architect who has built things, not just designed them
- Microsoft stack experience preferred - C#, .NET, Azure, and familiarity with the broader Microsoft ecosystem
- Comfort operating across cross-functional teams and orchestrating governance at scale
- Ability to evaluate both traditional and AI-driven technology investments
- Strong communication skills - you can translate complex architecture decisions for business and technical audiences alike
- Curiosity about AI and genuine interest in how it changes enterprise technology strategy
- Experience with tooling such as GitHub Copilot, VS Code, Cursor, or similar agentic development environments is a plus
