Google Public Sector's Software Engineering and Technology team is a group of engineers dedicated to helping organizations leverage the power of Google Cloud technologies. We build products that provide automation, repeatable patterns, and intelligent insights through advanced data analytics and Generative AI. We focus on helping United States public sector institutions accelerate their digital transformations, and we continue to make significant investments and grow our team to meet the complex needs of local, state and federal government and educational institutions., * Architect and operate advanced data synthesis pipelines and AI-based retrieval applications

  • Manage petabyte-scale data ingestion and synchronization across compute environments, including local storage, cloud back-ends, and on-premise resources.
  • Optimize highly parallel numerical operations and ML inference algorithms for specialized hardware accelerators.
  • Lead technical direction and provide engineering mentorship for groups developing complex, end-to-end production software systems.
  • Implement rigorous data life-cycle policies to ensure system resilience, data integrity, and fault recovery at scale.

Requirements

"Must be a US Citizen to meet customer and compliance requirements, including potential access to classified information."Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages.
  • 3 years of experience testing, maintaining, or launching software products, and 1 year of experience with software design and architecture.
  • 3 years of experience with one or more of the following: Speech/audio (technology duplicating and responding to the human voice), reinforcement learning (sequential decision making), ML infrastructure, or specialization in another ML field.
  • 3 years of experience with ML infrastructure.
  • Active, or ability to obtain a Top Secret/SCI clearance, and the willingness to undergo a polygraph., * Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or related technical field.
  • 5 years of experience with data structures and algorithms.
  • 1 year of experience in a technical leadership role.
  • Experience developing accessible technologies.
  • Experience with Kubernetes and managing distributed filesystems and cloud object storage.
  • Experience with parallel computing paradigms and hardware-level optimization including programming experience in Python or C/C++.

Benefits & conditions

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $174,000-$252,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
