Job description
In order to support Database Architecture and Roadmap department, Airbus Defence and Space is looking for a Database Architect (d/f/m).

Airbus Defence and Space is seeking a high-level expert to join our Database Architecture and Roadmap department.
In this role, you aren't just managing data; you are managing the "Single Source of Truth" for the entire Avionics engineering process. From On-Board Software configuration to Operations,
your work ensures that our space vehicles navigate the stars with absolute precision.
The Mission: Why Your Role Matters
At the core of our development process lies the Systems Engineering Database (SEDB) . This central hub acts as the nervous system for our Avionics design. You will be responsible for the architecture, population, and validation of this critical repository, ensuring seamless delivery to internal teams and external partners like ESA .
Your Responsibilities
- Architectural Leadership: Tailor SEDB architectures to project-specific needs, defining data formats, interfaces, and DB topologies.
- End-to-End Management: Oversee and execute the population, consistency, and validation of database content.
- Project & Team Lead: Manage the SEDB work package (schedule, cost, risk) and lead DB teams or subcontracted work packages on major projects.
- Transnational Collaboration: Drive harmonization across our European sites (France, Germany, UK) and optimize the engineering process for upcoming new database tooling.
- Stakeholder Interface: Act as the primary point of contact for internal AIT and external governmental and private customers
Requirements
- Education: Degree in Aerospace Engineering, Software Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Technical Mastery: Proven experience in data management, organization, and versioning systems ( Git, SVN ).
- Software Fluency: At ease with programming in Java, C++ , or other object-oriented languages.
- Domain Expertise: U nderstanding of (software) engineering processes and the satellite development lifecycle.
- Soft Skills: A proactive mindset, the ability to solve complex problems autonomously, and the capability to deal with uncertainty
- Languages: Negotiation-level English.
Preferred Assets:
- experience in one of the Avionics domains: OBSW, FVI, OPS, FDIR, or AOCS .
- Experience with space vehicle engineering
