Job description
Apple is looking for a senior, customer-focused Site Reliability Engineer to enhance and maintain the internal tools that enable Apple's Silicon Engineering Group to design industry-leading silicon. You will be the EMEIA Direct Responsible Individual (DRI) for two platforms central to silicon design: Perforce and GitLab. As the single point of accountability in EMEIA, you'll partner with US-based service owners and act as trusted technical advisor to design customers across Europe and the Middle East. The work is hands-on and senior: break/fix, upgrades, greenfield installs, change management, capacity planning, CI/CD workflow design, and sitting with engineering customers to design the right solution for their workflow. Beyond these focus areas, you'll also contribute to day-to-day operations of the broader Linux compute and storage environment supported by the wider CSG team, and provide auxiliary support for adjacent DevOps tooling such as artifact management and container, * Act as EMEIA DRI for Perforce and GitLab: regional service health, customer escalations, change execution, and regional voice into the global roadmap.
- Own the full platform lifecycle at a senior level: install, configure, upgrade, patch, tune, capacity-plan, back up, restore, decommission.
- Partner with silicon design teams to translate workflow requirements into reliable, scalable infrastructure and performant CI/CD patterns.
- Collaborate closely with US-based service owners on architecture, change windows, on-call hand-offs, runbooks, and roadmap. Some US west coast overlap required.
- Cross-train EMEIA SREs on first-line break/fix, building runbooks, paved paths, and training material.
- Provide auxiliary support for adjacent VCS and DevOps tooling: artifact management, container registries, build infrastructure, secrets management, and PoC deployments.
- Contribute to wider CSG operations: Linux compute, NFS/NAS storage, monitoring, and configuration management.
- Drive service resiliency and automation, including failover and auto-remediation; identify and eliminate toil.
- Participate in an on-call rotation scoped to Perforce and GitLab only (not the broader estate).
- Mentor across levels and disciplines, contributing to a culture of curiosity, openness, and inclusion.

Strong partnerships with silicon design, software, IT, security, and networking teams are key., * BS/MS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Strong SRE, DevOps, and system administration foundation.
- Deep senior-level operational experience across multiple Version Control Systems. Perforce and GitLab a strong plus
