Job description
We are seeking an experienced Kafka Streaming Developer to lead the design, implementation, and optimization of real-time data streaming solutions within the Data & Automation portfolio. This role is critical in enabling scalable, reliable, and observable data pipelines across batch, API, and streaming ecosystems. This role is located in our client's office five days a week in Strongsville, OH. Do not apply if you are not local or will not relocate yourself to Strongsville, OH. Position Description Future duties and responsibilities . Architect and implement enterprise-grade Kafka streaming solutions (Confluent or equivalent) . Define event-driven architecture patterns and integration strategies across batch, API, and streaming systems . Design and manage Kafka topics, partitions, schemas, and retention strategies . Build and optimize real-time ingestion pipelines and ensure high throughput and low latency . Implement reconciliation and data integrity validation checkpoints within streaming flows . Collaborate with data engineering, DevOps, and observability teams to integrate monitoring (e.g., LogScale, Dynatrace) . Lead troubleshooting of production issues, including lag, data loss, duplication, and performance bottlenecks . Conduct architecture reviews, whiteboarding sessions, and provide technical leadership . Mentor junior engineers and enforce best practices in streaming and distributed systems
Requirements
8+ years of experience in data engineering or distributed systems . 4+ years of hands-on experience with Apache Kafka . Strong expertise in event-driven architecture and microservices . Experience integrating Kafka with APIs, batch systems, and databases . Knowledge of schema management (Avro/Schema Registry) . Experience with cloud platforms (AWS and Azure) . Strong understanding of data integrity, reconciliation, and observability concepts . Experience with banking/financial services data systems . Familiarity with log-based ingestion (LogScale/Elastic) . Experience with Kubernetes/OpenShift environments, * Apache Kafka

Compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range for this role in the U.S. is $57,100.00 - $154,300.00.
