Job description

Job Summary: We are seeking an experienced Senior Mainframe Developer with strong expertise in COBOL-based application development and legacy system modernization. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and enhancing mainframe applications while supporting migration initiatives and ensuring application security and performance., * Design, develop, and maintain high-performing mainframe applications

  • Participate in legacy-to-distributed system migration initiatives
  • Write efficient, scalable, and secure code following coding standards
  • Apply SDLC methodologies including Agile, Lean, and CI practices
  • Analyze and optimize application performance
  • Work with APIs through middleware integration
  • Perform vulnerability remediation and security enhancements
  • Provide on-call production support on a rotational basis
  • Take ownership of business requirements and deliver solutions independently
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, stakeholders, and Product Owners

Requirements

  • 8-10 years of hands-on experience in mainframe development

Must-Have Technical Skills

  • Strong experience in COBOL, JCL, DB2, VSAM, and CICS
  • Proficiency with ChangeMan, File Aid/File Manager, DFSORT, Syncsort, and Easytrieve
  • Experience in System Z (Enterprise COBOL & JCL)
  • Expertise in Mainframe DB2 Application Development, * Experience in modernization or migration projects
  • Knowledge of software/product security practices
  • Strong understanding of testing techniques and documentation standards

Soft Skills

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
