Job description

Job Description: Provide leadership in identifying, assessing, and managing technology needs for the school system to the Superintendent and other stakeholders. Direct, coordinate, supervise, facilitate, or perform all tasks and elements needed to effect comprehensive integration of appropriate technology into every facet of district operations., 1. Provide leadership in all aspects of technology for the school district including the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) as a learning and work tool.

  1. Develop IT policies in consultation with Administration. Maintain compliance with all IT policies.
  2. Coordinate development, refinement, and execution of the district strategic plan, involving all stakeholders.
  3. Collaborate with the Superintendent and Cabinet to make informed decisions.
  4. Collaborate with principals and school staff to make informed decisions.
  5. Lead district initiatives, collaborating across departments and functional areas that support adoption and implementation of technology in all aspects of school business, including those that improve teaching and learning. Create and support cross-functional teams for needs assessment, decision-making, technology support, professional development, and other aspects of the district technology program.
  6. Manage and direct staff in support of all technology applications to help the district meet goals of the strategic plan.
  7. Supervise or coordinate the skills development of all employees in the operation of technology. Build awareness among employees of available resources and the role of technology in the instructional process.
  8. Development and coordination of a broad range of technology-based resources maximizing the availability and use of these resources.
  9. Supervise, coach, and evaluate all Technology Department staff.
  10. Supervises the maintenance of up-to-date records contained in databases such as EMIS, PowerSchool, and other district databases.
  11. Prepare reports to the Board of Education and community on technology as requested.
  12. Collaborate with the district leadership to ensure the appropriate level of technology support is available for all areas of the curriculum.
  13. Complete all state and federal technology program reports, grants, and proposals.
  14. Interact with the public as an ambassador of the district.
  15. Serve on committees, task forces, and co-curricular activities as needed/requested.
  16. Lead the development and maintenance of the district's technology plan, associated policies and procedures, and budget.
  17. Recommend purchases of equipment and software.
  18. Maintain inventory of all technology equipment and software.
  19. Assure timely and appropriate maintenance of computer networks.

  11. Perform other duties as assigned by the Supervisor, Superintendent's Designee, or Superintendent.

Requirements

  1. Minimum of Bachelor's Degree in Education (math/science preferred), Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or closely related field.
  2. Master's Degree in Educational Administration, Leadership, Business, Computer Science, Information Management, or related field preferred.
  3. Experience in K-12 education.
  4. Demonstrated ability to lead, develop, organize, and implement technology programs in a strategic manner.
  5. Such alternatives to the above as deemed appropriate by the Superintendent.

Benefits & conditions

  1. May occasionally be exposed to blood, bodily fluids, and tissue.
  2. Frequent interruption of tasks to support students, staff, parents/guardians, community members, and visitors.
  3. Must occasionally work nights/extended days due to school functions.
  4. Must be able to assist others by moving around the school and grounds.
  5. Must be able to lift and move 40 lbs.
  6. Repetitive hand motion (e.g., keyboard, typing) or voice-to-text.
  7. Employees shall remain free of any alcohol or non-prescribed controlled substance use in the workplace throughout their employment with the District.

Salary: $117, 000 - $154,000 (260 days)
