Key Responsibilities: * Install, configure, maintain, and upgrade database platforms across development, test, and production environments
- Monitor database performance and proactively tune queries, indexes, and storage to optimize efficiency
- Implement and manage backup, recovery, and disaster recovery strategies to ensure data availability
- Enforce database security controls, access management, and compliance with organizational policies
- Troubleshoot and resolve database issues, outages, and data integrity problems
- Support application deployments, schema changes, and data migrations
- Develop and maintain database documentation, standards, and operating procedures
- Collaborate with infrastructure, cybersecurity, and application teams to support system lifecycle activities Work Environment: * Location: Chantilly, VA

Requirements
- Working Hours: Standard Qualifications: Required: * Security Clearance: Ability to obtain a TS++
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related technical field (or equivalent experience) * Minimum of 15 years of hands-on experience administering relational databases (e.g., Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MySQL) * Strong knowledge of database architecture, performance tuning, and troubleshooting * Experience with backup/recovery tools and high-availability configurations * Familiarity with database security concepts, role-based access, and auditing * Ability to work independently and in team-based environments supporting mission-critical systems Desired: * Experience supporting databases in enterprise, government, or regulated environments
- Exposure to cloud-based database platforms (e.g., Azure SQL, AWS RDS, Oracle Cloud)
- Scripting or automation experience (PowerShell, Bash, Python, or SQL)
- Knowledge of data replication, clustering, or failover technologies
- Familiarity with compliance frameworks or security requirements (e.g., STIGs, NIST, ISO)
