Job description
EMSI currently seeks a SAR Data Exploitation Program Manager who can oversee the development of cutting-edge automated target recognition software for both moving and stationary objects in Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) data. The candidate will need to manage a team of radar SMEs and machine learning engineers.
The candidate must have a strong background in physics and / or electrical engineering in order to understand the phenomenology of both moving and stationary objects in SAR imagery. The candidate should also have real-world experience with deep neural networks and proven executive communication skills. Candidates will need to be flexible and quickly shift among a variety of leadership, technical, communication, and stakeholder relationship tasks. As one example of communication tasks, the candidate should have experience writing clear, concise and technically solid proposals.
The successful candidate will have considerable responsibility and a direct impact on relevant issues facing the United States government and other customers. The successful candidate will possess a strong track record of leading machine learning engineer teams to deliver on time, on budget, and meeting/exceeding stakeholder technical performance measures (TPM).
Requirements
- 3 or more years of experience leading engineering teams
- An active DoD Top Secret government clearance
- Familiarity with SAR radar sensing phenomenology and signal processing is essential.
- Proven executive communication skills demonstrated by independently creating compelling written and visual technical content to 1) keep external customers/stakeholders engaged and 2) facilitate internal bottom-up and top-down communication across organization levels
- Demonstrated ability to write technical proposals and assist in business development
- Proven ability to mentor, provide actionable feedback to, and conduct performance evaluation for team members in purview
- Proven ability to use a broad range of technical and soft skills to build productive relationships with partners and independently resolve complex technical and business needs
- Demonstrated ability to create physics simulations of various phenomenologies and develop methods to account for bias between simulated and real-world data
