Summary: Bridge Defense seeks a highly-qualified Database Engineer or Architect to join a mission-focused team that maintains applications, services, microservices, Platform as a Service (PaaS), and support services. The effort requires the maintenance and enhancement of an application and underlying services/microservices' application's current capability while identifying future capability needs and eliminating overlaps. The team will continuously improve sustainment and development in order to reinvest resources to provide new capabilities and improve the effectiveness, quality, and robustness of the underlying technology. Our applications are focused on intelligence analysis and collection management directly supporting intelligence analysts and operators across the intelligence community and Combatant Commands. The Database Engineer leads development of databases, database parser software, and database loading software; leads development of database structures that fit into the overall architecture of the system under development; develops requirement recommendations from a project's inception to its conclusion for a particular Business and IT subject matter area (i.e., simple to complex systems) ; directs the overall database structure that fits into the overall architecture of the system under development and has to make trades among data volumes, number of users, logical and physical distribution, response times, retention rules, security and domain controls. Direct fulfillment of requirements from a project's inception to it conclusion, directs organization of requirements and data into a usable database schema by directing development of ad hoc queries, scripts, macros, updates to existing queries ; direct the development of complex systems using queries, tables, Open Database Connectivity and database storage and retrieval using Cloud methodologies . Essential Duties and Responsibilites: * Provides technical expertise for database design, development, implementation, information storage and retrieval, data flow and analysis to include using Oracle, SQL Server, SYBASE, and other DBMS Database and Applications . * Develops relational and/or Object-Oriented databases, database parser software, and database loading software . * Projects long-range requirements for database administration and design . * Responsible for developing a database structure that fits into the overall architecture of the system under development and has to make trades among data volumes, number of users, logical and physical distribution, response times, retention rules, security and domain controls. * The DBE works primarily at the front end of the lifecycle-requirements through system acceptance testing and Initial Operational Capability (IOC). * Develops requirements from a project's inception to its conclusion for a particular business and IT subject matter area (i.e., simple to complex systems). * Assist with recommendations for, and analysis and evaluation of systems improvements, optimization, development, and/or maintenance efforts. * Participates in developing and delivering training as, overtime should be expected when schedules demand it. * Willing to travel, if needed. * No Relocation . * Must be able to sit/stand at a desk for long-periods and must be able to lift 20 pounds occasionally. * Must be able to multi-task and rapidly change priorities with limited notice. Required Qualifications, Education, and Experience: * Active TOP SECRET/SCI with a CI polygraph test. * Must be currently DoD 8570 compliant at IA Technical (IAT)/IA Management (IAM) Level 2. * Experience working on a development team under DoD/DIA DevSecOps process. * Experience with multiple configuration management tools and resources. * Understanding of Oracle and/or CENTOS architecture builds, Cloud, full-stack, OpenShift, Postgresql, and Java. * Familiar with GitLab, Bitbucket, Confluence, JIRA, Nexus, Jenkins and other DevSecOps tools. * Must be analytical and effectively able to prioritize needs, requirements, and other issues. Education Experience High School Diploma/ GED 12 Associates Degree 10 Bachelors' Degree 6 Masters' Degree 3 PhD 2 Desired Qualifications, Education, and Experience: * Bachelor's degree in information technology, or computer science. * Eight (8) or more years of program/application operations, or comparable work experience. * Experience in the Intelligence Community. * Strong risk management skills, excellent communication, teamwork and conflict management skills.
