Job description

The Division Vice President of Information Technology is a strategic business leader responsible for defining and executing the technology vision across the Aerospace & Defense division comprised of eight independent operating businesses.

This individual will partner with Division and Business Unit leadership to enable growth, operational excellence, compliance, and innovation through secure, scalable, and forward-looking technology solutions.

The role is accountable for enterprise systems (ERP, CRM, etc), cybersecurity, infrastructure, data strategy, and the identification, evangelization, and driving adoption of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and advanced digital technologies across the division.

This position reports directly to the Division VP Finance and has a functional reporting line to the CIO of AMETEK., Strategic Technology Leadership

  • Develop and execute an IT and Digital roadmap aligned with the division growth strategy and A&D market requirements
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to the Division and business leaders on technology-enabled opportunities that can deliver a competitive advantage
  • Drive scalability and best practice sharing of systems and processes across the operating businesses while respecting operational autonomy
  • Lead IT due diligence and integration for acquisitions and strategic growth initiatives

AI Strategy, Evangelization & Deployment

  • Support the business leaders in developing the AI strategy to enhance productivity, decision-making, operational performance, engineering, supply chain, and customer engagement.
  • Identify high-impact AI use cases (e.g., predictive analytics, software coding, proposal automation, demand forecasting, knowledge management, etc.)
  • Evangelize AI capabilities and educate leadership teams on practical applications and ROI
  • Drive adoption of AI across the enterprise
  • Establish governance frameworks for responsible, secure, and compliant AI deployment, particularly within regulated A&D environments
  • Build internal AI competencies and partner with external technology providers as needed
  • Drive measurable business outcomes from AI investments (efficiency gains, margin expansion, working capital improvements, etc.)

ERP & Enterprise Applications Leadership

  • Own the strategy, optimization, migration, and lifecycle management of ERP platforms across the division
  • Lead ERP standardization, upgrades, or transformations where required
  • Improve data integrity, reporting consistency, and cross-business visibility
  • Drive disciplined governance around master data and business process alignment

Cybersecurity & Risk Management

  • Establish and maintain a robust cybersecurity posture aligned with A&D regulatory requirements (e.g., CMMC, NIST, ITAR, DFARS)
  • Lead proactive threat monitoring, incident response planning, and vulnerability management
  • Partner with Corporate IT and Security to ensure alignment with enterprise standards
  • Support business continuity and disaster recovery planning
  • Promote a culture of cybersecurity awareness and accountability

Data & Digital Transformation

  • Develop a division-wide data strategy to enable analytics, business intelligence, and AI initiatives
  • Improve visibility into KPIs across operations, supply chain, finance, and engineering
  • Champion automation and digital workflow solutions
  • Standardize reporting and dashboarding where appropriate

Infrastructure & Service Delivery

  • Ensure reliable, scalable, and secure IT infrastructure across all sites
  • Drive high service and responsiveness to business needs
  • Optimize IT cost structure while improving performance and scalability

M&A Diligence and Transaction Support

  • Lead IT due diligence for acquisitions, assessing enterprise systems, infrastructure, cybersecurity, data, and digital maturity, with a strong focus on Aerospace & Defense regulatory requirements
  • Partner with Division Finance, Corporate Development, Legal, and business leadership to evaluate technology risks, integration complexity, and cost and synergy implications
  • Define and execute pragmatic IT integration strategies that balance speed, risk mitigation, cost, and business continuity

Requirements

  • 10+ years of proven, progressive IT leadership, including global experience in an engineering-centric, product development, and manufacturing organization in multi-site or multi-business environments
  • Experience in Aerospace & Defense or other highly regulated manufacturing environments strongly preferred
  • Demonstrated project management of full life cycle ERP, CRM, and PLM implementations; Knowledge and proficiency in Oracle preferred
  • Experience building and deploying AI or advanced analytics solutions in an industrial setting
  • Deep understanding of cybersecurity frameworks and regulatory requirements in government contracting environments
  • Experience in a regulated industry, with direct experience supporting CMMC, NIST 800-171, DFARS cybersecurity requirements, and ITAR/EAR export controls
  • Experience supporting M&A integration
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Technology, or related field; MA/MBA preferred
  • Must be a U.S. Person as defined by ITAR regulations; ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. security clearance is preferred
  • Ability to travel approximately 50% domestically and internationally
  • This is a U.S. remote role ideally based on the east coast; ability to interact/attend calls in EST and CST required
  • Strong business and financial acumen with experience working for a publicly traded company
  • Demonstrated ability to drive change, influence autonomous leaders, and hold teams accountable in a performance-driven culture
