Job description
Peraton is hiring a Capabilities Development Systems Engineer to join our Cyber Mission business unit in Fort Meade, Maryland. As a Systems Engineer on our team, you will support one of the largest enterprise-wide engineering contracts within the Intelligence Community. This is a full-time position requiring 1880 hours of support per year; and work is performed at a customer location. As a Capabilities Development Systems Engineer on our team, you will provide recommendations on the use of operational platforms and strategies tailored to specific mission needs. You will develop operational concepts in support of mission and recommend technical and operational solutions; identify opportunities to partner and recommend engagements that further the mission for the U.S. and Joint Combatant Commands; and identify access and data gaps and recommend solutions to fill those gaps while communicating risks. You will serve as a subject matter expert and demonstrate experience with the following Technical Process Areas: Stakeholder Requirements Definition, Requirements Analysis, Architectural Design, Implementation, Integration, Verification, Transition, Validation, Operation, Maintenance, and Disposal.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or advanced degree in computer science, information systems, engineering, or other related discipline plus at least 20 years of systems engineering experience. A Master's degree or PhD may be substituted for two years of experience. A high school diploma or GED plus 24 years of systems engineering experience would also be acceptable.
- Experience with RF engineering.
- Position requires TS/SCI clearance with polygraph.
Individual Capabilities/Experience Desired:
- Experience with requirements gathering, design synthesis, and system design.
- Experience producing enterprise level architectural artifacts such as: CONOPS, model based systems engineering, use-case diagrams and security-based compliance support.
- Proven ability to provide risk analysis, evaluate test results, if needed, identify and report health status of activities, to aid in ensuring the health and compatibility of enterprise and mission.
- Experience with systems engineering documentation such as System Engineering Plans, Initial Capabilities Documents, Requirements specifications, and Interface Control Documents.
- Must have familiarization with NSA infrastructure.

Benefits & conditions
Target Salary Range: $176,000 - $282,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual's experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
