Job description
Develop subject matter expertise across player, commerce, and creator data domains to translate stakeholder needs into data access patterns and solutions. Identify, define, and design features for the analytics environment that address information needs across product, marketing, and AI/ML workloads. Map business opportunities to appropriate data architecture patterns and evolve the architecture as strategies and technologies mature. Analyze multi-structured data and metadata from diverse sources and select, model, and document datasets that fulfill analytics requirements. Design adaptable, scalable data models and architect dataflows to support analytics, operational processes, and machine learning. Define governed access patterns with clear specifications for implementation and stewardship. Unify data requirements for key enterprise concepts by harmonizing business definitions and semantics and producing semantic, lifecycle, and taxonomy models. Guide adoption of data governance principles and practices to realize the architecture vision. Build and maintain reference architecture and standards that communicate the direction for information architecture. Contribute to refactoring and redesign of commerce and economy data systems to improve support for monetization and creator experiences.
Requirements
We are seeking a Data & Analytics Architect to join the Player and Data Analytics team supporting a large-scale gaming studio. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in data and analytics architecture, scalable data modeling, and end-to-end data flow design and a proven ability to deliver governed, performant data solutions that enable monetization, product decision-making, and AI/ML use cases.
Top 3 must have skills:
SQL 4-5 years
Data Analysis 4-5 years
Architecture design 3 years, Undergraduate degree and 5+ years in data, analytics, or information architecture, or related software development; or graduate degree and 3+ years; or equivalent experience. 2+ years as a Data, Analytics, or Information Architect on large enterprise systems with diverse data sources. Proven ability to assess complex information landscapes and translate business concepts into coherent data and analytics architectures. Strong data analysis and exploration skills to identify, select, and model data for analytics. Proficiency with SQL and working knowledge of Python for data querying and basic transformations. General knowledge of video game domains and player analytics concepts.
- Disqualifiers: Repetitive, overly long, or generic or keyword heavy resumes that lack context on impact or outcomes (ex, just listing tools/tech without explaining business value) will likely be disqualified
- Best vs. Average: The ideal resume would contain resumes that clearly demonstrate how their work drives business impact (ex. improved performance, enabled decision making, supported marketing or product outcomes) and show strong critical thinking and problem solving in how they present their experience. Preferred Skills:
Polyglot data modeling across relational, dimensional, semantic, and event-driven paradigms. Expert SQL and intermediate Python for transformation, automation, and data quality checks. Experience with video game commerce systems and in-game economies. Experience applying AI to accelerate analysis, improve data quality, and streamline delivery. Working knowledge of DevOps and DataOps practices.
