Job description
Mythics, an Oracle Platinum Partner and leading Oracle solutions provider, is seeking a highly skilled Sr. Solaris Admin with extensive experience supporting Virtual environments. This role will be responsible for providing daily production and non-production operational support, ensuring optimal performance, availability, and security for mission-critical systems.
As a Solaris Expert (SME), you will work both independently and collaboratively with client teams to support OS modernization initiatives, migrations, and optimization projects. This is a position that requires strong technical expertise and excellent problem-solving skills., * Provide day-to-day operational support for Solaris systems in production and non-production environments.
- Conduct OS performance tuning and troubleshooting to optimize server performance and availability.
- Provide guidance and recommendations for modernization and cloud migration initiatives.
- Document OS configurations, procedures, and operational processes.
- Collaborate with client stakeholders, developers, and system administrators to design, implement, and support OS solutions.
- Ensure compliance with DISA STIG guidance and security best practices for Solaris and Oracle database environments.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field, or equivalent work experience.
- Must have an active Secret Clearance
- 16+ years of experience as an Solaris Admin, with strong focus on production environments.
- Expertise with Oracle RAC administration and troubleshooting.
- Extensive experience supporting Exadata and Oracle Database environments.
- Advanced skills in OS Linux performance tuning and optimization.
- Experience configuring OLVM
- Experience configuring and managing Exadata machines.
- Familiarity with Linux KVM architecture and configuration for security best practices.
- Knowledge of Linux layout and hardening practices per DISA STIG guidelines.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Exadata platforms.
- Experience with Solaris platforms
- Knowledge of automation tools such as Ansible, Terraform, or similar for database management.
- Experience working in government or highly regulated environments.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)
- Deep understanding of Exadata architecture, performance tuning, and high availability concepts.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to resolve complex OS issues quickly.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, for client interaction and documentation.
- High attention to detail and commitment to security, reliability, and operational excellence.
- Dedication to continuous learning and staying current with emerging Oracle technologies.
